they should out last your engine, you'd want them too for the price. unless you drop a seal, don't regulary change oil and filter...

because they're more efficient they are a little smaller but have the flow capability of a larger turbocharger.

i wouldn't know which turbo to compare it too. i don't think its that easy.

There have only been 7 failures in the 100,000+ GT series turbo's produced it's not a bad failure rate.

This is what you get.

1.06a/r Turbine Housing, single entry, 4-bolt outlet
84 Trim Turbine Wheel, 2.45/2.68
Water cooled GT centre housing
0.70a/r Compressor Housing, 4' Inlet, 2.5' Outlet
56 Trim Compressor Wheel, 60lbs/min flow, 2.41/3.22

The turbo makes postive boost by 2400RPM, 7PSI by 2800RPM and 15PSI by 3400RPM. At that setting it makes around 410 horsepower at the wheels at 15PSI.

Thanks,Sean

Sean is right about the boost pattern. I will have horsepower numbers when I dyno my car with this turbo later this week or early next. I will keep you guys updated.

if you guys are interested, you can get the GT3540 single turbo kit from Aspec Tuning.

Would this Turbo run out of breath in the higher RPM ranges? At 7500-8000 RPM what would the boost levels be?

It sounds almost too good to be true. I need a Turbo for my Cosmo 13BRE Motor, and this one sounds like it meets my requirements.

If you're talking peak power, I doubt that GT3540 comes close to any of the T-Series (Turbonetics?) turbos - if anything it'll be like a T04S04 (i.e. T58), but the T6x turbos all make more power.

GT35/40 should flow 60 lbs/min of air
T-series (TO4S) flows 62 lbs/min of air and it is the smallest T-series turbo
The T61 flows like 65 lbs/min of air

The trick to get more power is to run race gas and turn up the boost ... also run the biggest exhaust housing and turn some rpms for big RWHP numbers.

I know this thread is about the GT35/40, but after seeing you guys compate the 35/40 to a To4S, I'd like to know whicxh of the T series turbonetics turbos the GT42 compares to.

I have a friend who is shopping for a turbo. he wants a dual BB turbo that is comprable in power potential to a turbonetics T70. would the GT42 be too big?

I know Mangus is running low 10s with a 42 and no N2O, is anyone else usingg a GT42 on a 13B?
