Everything has been checked over and over again. The wheel was installed backwards. The wheel had been fixed. There is something wrong with my unit. At one point a coil didnt work then it did. I have just had it with it. Time to move on. The unit is for sale.

I miss spoke. Its the timing is what is giving us a problem. There is nothing wrong with the unit.

All i can say is Electromotive Tec3 sucks with rotary. I know of 2 ppl that has had nothing but problems with it. 1 of them ended up with a engine that was just in pieces. It had damaged everything except the eshaft. Everything else was toast.

Go with something that can read the stock triggers perfect.

I dont think that its junk. I think that there is just something wrong with how it reads the timing. Everything that Ron and Steve Kan tried didnt work. Ron just ordered the Haltech Platinum 2000 for me today.

Back from the dead!! The thread that is.

No the car doesn't work right and yes its doing the same darn thing it was doing with the old unit. I think my car hates me. Why car, why do you hate me so? Im getting to the point where I will just bring it home and it can spend the rest of its life in time out in my garage.

LOL

Your car is epic.

I think you should just bring it back and fix it yourself.

Are you saying it's doing the same thing with the Haltech as with the TEC3?

wow thats a bitch.

Don't get discouraged, now you've ruled out a problem! Time to get scientific, one change at a time, and comb that thing over front to back.

What exactly is it doing now?

From what I have been told it is doing the samething. Breaking up, cant rev past 6k, bad spark, and just wont make power.

I take it there is something wrong with old wiring that is causing the problem.

I have spent so much time and money on this project and it just wont work rite.

I JUST WANT TO SCREAM!!!

Did you end up swapping to the Haltech or is this the TEC3 still?

Had a similar problem on my car, running an M400. Finally solved it, but not exactly sure what did it.. Try rewiring the ignition system.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Who has the car now? I know you have probably done this but I would run through the following...

New plugs

Check power wires to coils/ECU especially if distribution blocks or fuse holders etc were used.

If you swapped ECU's chances are that original wires were not rerun so there are some joins and the original problem is still there connection wise.

Check all grounds. I have a central ground block (Thanks Enzo) that is grounded by one wire to the battery as well as the engine block and all ground are run to this one block.

Disconnect the trailing plug wires and run the car on leading alone and see if the break up RPM or anything changes.

Are you trying to use the 60-2 wheel you used with the Electromotive? If so it won't work with the Haltech. The settings on the Haltech aren't something you should have to experiment with. They're very much standardized and well documented.

Was thinking same thing.....

The haltech section of this forum is very helpful for new users.

It's very dangerous to just "try different" settings.

Update:
Around the start of fall I had enough waiting for my car. I went up to the shop that has had my car for a little more then a year picked it up and came home. I did nothing to the car all winter. Just a little to cold in the garage for me. Since the weather has started to warm up I have been in the garage going threw the work that had been done. Found a few things I had to change. I know I'm not the best at wiring but I figured I could give it a shot. Ended up finding the power wire to the map sensor had fallen out. In the process of fixing the power wire the signal wire fell out. Since then I have fixed that, got rid of a bunch of ground wires that had just been thrown in and put a heat wrap on the wiring harness. I also fixed all of the vaccum lines. Since all of that has been done I went a head charged the battery and wished for the best. It payed off. The car started rite up with no problem. Yes its still running rich as hell but I am even able to drive it with no problems. Im not running any boost at this point. I still have an aqua mist kit to purchase and install. I will just have to wait for Steve to tune it now.

To make a point, I am not bashing the shop that did the work. He just didnt know a thing about an RX7. I have seen and driven a few of the cars the shop has built and tuned and they have come out great.
