going single turbo...

hey I'm getting an rx-7 and would like to know what all it takes to go single turbo. I am going to have aboout $4300 and maybe more, with a stock rx7 what will it take to go single. minimum. I need a semi-reliable car for college and would like to go single with reliability mods, but I need to know what I need for the single. I am planning on a T-66 or T-78 in size. thanks.
as far as goes I have narrowed it down to this that I need:

Standalone ECU
Turbo (of course )
Mani
Wastegate
downpipe
injectors (how big?)
fmic (what kind, apexi?)
fuel pump (again, what kind, or is there just one "best" kind?)
midpipe
cat-back

what do I need to add/can I do without on this list? and where can I get all the parts the cheapest? I dont mind used parts such as exhaust and maybe injectors. I would assume the downpipe/mani/turbo would all come as a kit. thanks.

With $4300 you may have a hard time including the single turbo setup. If you stick with the twin turbos you'll be able to buy the FMIC(1200), standalone ECU(1400), full exhaust(900), injectors(upgrade secondaries to 1600's for 200 plus a modified fuel rail), and fuel pump(250). all of the prices are estimates, but they're pretty close.

With that stuff and the right tuning you should be able to make over 400 HP on a good motor. If you don't like the complexity of the sequential turbos you could always convert them to non-sequential.

Like 13BAce said, upgrade everything around the current stock turbos and give yourself a good base to build on. Then save a bit more money and get yourself a good single kit and you don't have to worry about anything!

If he was in Australia I wouldn't have suggested a kit obviously. We don't have any affordable bolt on kits down here, its all custom
