Yeah I know, I looked at JR's site already. Plus Silver0ct has the same one on his car. So he's going to help me install it. Thanks for the heads up.

Air/water intercooler. Far superior to any air/air in existence.

Is there a "basics to air/water IC" out there? Help me understand how it works. Somewhere you have a tank of icewater and it is pumped through the IC, is that the basic gist? Obviously then it's sealed from outside airflow -- instead of ambient air flowing through cooling the intake charge it's the icewater... yes/no?

Seems like that would work great for short distances (drag racing) but a pain to maintain (refill) for a daily driver...

Original ASP huge stock mount. For race track use it is more important to let the radiator get the majority of the cold air.

Air/water isn't ideal for daily driving. For drag apps that would be nice; even then i see alot of people use FMIC or no IC at all on methonal/alchohol fuel applications.

BLITZ FMIC.. big nice and easy to install.

Sure it is, provided you've got an adequately sized heat-exchanger (radiator) up top. It can have as fast, if not faster, recovery rates than air-to-air concerning intake air temperatures.

I agree 100%. Water is a great heat exchanger. The only disadvantage is the location and weight of a properly designed system for the street or track. Drag racing not included - prolonged operating time is not a conceren.

BDC's air-to-water worked great for daily driving!
His water temps were lower than mine during the hot dog days of Texas.

I'm not sure how it would it would perform on a road track like MSR, but it was fine on the street.

It's about implementation rather than the core used.
A big heat exchanger and nice reservoir with a sufficient bilge pump.

Air to air is a whole lot simplier to install and debug.
Air to water involves more components; thus, it's more complex when you have problems.

This is what I am currently running - Air to Air - APEX'i GTR core, 2-1/2" tubing and fully ducked. I would have used an air to water but I have a 3rd Gen ( No trunk for a heat exchanger / radiator ) and I didn't want to cut the car up too much.

negative, my car runs significantly hotter on the highway thanks to my apex gt. Even after the aluminum race radiator and evans coolant.
