FD with two seperate twins ?????

HOUSTON:

I am helping a owner who recently purchased a metallic gray FD:
(1) twin singles with two separate exhaust systems
(2) reworked fuel pump system with 850cc/1600cc, parallel fuel lines under UIM.
(3) custom front clip, and CF hatch cover, no rear spoiler or wing
(4) red interior
(5) motor was very hard to turn over, owner assumed blown motor.
He purchased an almost new Mazda long block and installed it.
Yesterday I dismantled the original engine for him.
It was not blown but very carboned up. All seals were good but would not on
their own fall out of the rotors.

Over use of silicon glues every were.

The engine has the Racing Beat porting to the intake and exhaust. Here is the
weird part, the primary ports are ported the same as the large secondary ports!

(6) UIM front bolt hole ear almost cracked off caused massive air leak.
(7) owner only can afford my tuning help but not mechanical fixing of the car.
I am collecting info for Thai!

Question:
(1) fuel pump rewired, works but will not maintain pressure after pump turns off. Lot of extra wiring around FP unit.
What all mods were done to FP unit?

This is so confusing... So I'll answer the only question I can make out.

It is fine if the fuel pressure bleeds off after the car sits for a while, I have a brand new Aeromotive FPR and Walbro 450lph pump and it bleeds off after the car sits for a while.

Good luck!

For those that can not multitask or handle multiple realities or are bad and mixed logic
(1) starts with description of car and engine
(2) goes to engine problems caused by the some person
(3) says I am doing research on the fuel system because owner can not afford me to do hands on
(4) asked for help: trying to entice the previous owner to come forward on mods.

So far 3 of you failed the test!

What do you all expect from a 69 year old engineer/IT person who has own a FD longer than any other person, and wrote most of the instructions
on how the PFC/DL work and how to use them.

Expectation and what we'd like to see are probably two different things. I'd like to see a clear and concise question. But then I see engineer and PFC/DL and my expectations become something different.

You've posted in the typical noon format.

I have an FD with
- LED washer lights
- dice valve stem caps
- Walbro
- etc., etc., make me puke it has nothing to do with the question, etc.
What octane blinker fluid should I run?

You got razzed. You deserve it. Someone answered your questions. Move on.

Maybe someone should have given an answer he would recognize! The answer he gives most to others...

Damn near spit my drink out.

To answer your question it's likely a stuck injector.

Dam, I should have expect that for getting your mothers pregnant and then leaving you all bastards alone without your real dads.

Will the real bastard that messed up this engine raise his three hands?

What the **** Chuck

So much random in this thread... I love it! But seriously, your original post was so fragmented, nonsensical, and full of unnecessary info (how does a red interior effect an engine/fueling issue?) that I thought we had a hardcore newb with a similar username to yours (I'm reading and posting from my phone so I can only see usernames).

I got nothing but respect for ya man, but you apon'd out HARD on this one

So you're like every other engineer I've worked with that rates somewhat high on the Gilliam scale. Got it.

GADS, NO! Minor Turrets, yes.

No It is time for a bottle of Brooklyn Sorachi Ace : Brooklyn Brewery.
One of my favorites.

Back to the car: the FP unit has multiple relays and ground wires like it may be a two pump design, most likely without the speed relay being used. The owner does not know FDs or any RX7 and is not that good with electronics.

If fuel press doenst hold with ignition off it just means there is no check valve in the pump. this is no problem at all and it will just cause the car to take a second longer to start if you you do not first put iginition on and wait the system to be primed.

It seems like I answered one of your questions in post 3...

And why not take the 20 minutes and pull the pump to see what the car actually has? Or have the owner of the car grow a pair and actually learn about his/her car. This thread is pointless.

He describes the vehicle because he is hoping the previous owner will recognize it by description and chime in.

If that is the case, photos speak louder than words... Which dont seem to be his strong suit.
