From the looks of it, it's based on the Garrett GT-42 frame.
You'll be surprise how quickly those turbos spool especially if it's one of the dual ball bearing versions.

Yes it is a TA51 based turbo , everything is larger on this one , the shaft is even thicker than the TURBONETICS big shaft option , housings are larger , bearings (obvoiusly) even the to4 based footprint is a bit larger , I had to slot the holes and machine the gasket a bit.It is a 1.22 a/r rear end with a 71mm turbine wheel and a 76 mm compressor in a 0.6a/r housing.
Whilst the motor is idleing the wheels are already turning quite fast pushing air out of the intake pipe.
On the road it feels quite strong even before boost comes in , I have broken my reinforced PPF again and the rear end is squating enough to cause the rear tyres to rub inside the wheel wells ,by 4000rpm there is about 5psi of boost , but from 4500-5000rpm boost comes in in a rush , shooting streight to 8-10 psi at which point the wastegates are wide open (spring pressure is somewhere around 9 psi),remember my motor is half bridge ported , so I guess the real party starts when the bridges begin to work above 4000 rpms .
I havent been able to dyno or raise boost or my rev limiter past 7000rpm since my injectors are already hitting 86% duty cycle , I think the four 850 cc ones are in need of a good cleaning .
I am quite happy with it , I havent even begun to stress that turbo yet , or even my engine and I am already a bit apprehensive , I cant wait to get up into boost and RPM and see what she can really do , when I get on the dyno and track I will be sure to let you guys know what happened .

Is a turbo similar to yours... worthwhile on a streetported motor? Mines in my garage waiting to be put on... I'm trying to figure out if it is just to damn big!
Thanks,
Ryker

Looking good. That is exactly the same compressor cover and wheel I have on my 12a. I am using a much smaller 1.15 exhaust housing with a p trim wheel though. My engine is only street ported also.
When are you getting fullboost?

Expect over double the amount of power you have experienced thus far

Hey Marcel, I know you gave some numbers in your one post, but do you have all the numbers on that turbo, both minor and major for both wheels? What size is the downpiped on the Ta51?...Max
