Can you turn the turbine by hand, does it feel like it binds up at all or requires a lot of force? And I assume rev means drive? Since you won't boost much in neutral

Shoulda checked the forums before you bought that kit. Those turbos are crap. There are pictures on here somewhere of one that cracked right in half.

does anyone READ the fourms anymore? or do they just hop on and blindly type away..

'cause if you had read you'd know that ANYTHING from SSAC/XSPower.. whatever they call themselves this week. IS not worth the steam that flows off poo.You can pretty much count on those 'trims' being so far out in left field that your going to have to dissasemble them and get the RIGHT trim.

I'm going to guess that your compressor nut is locktite into place without actually being tight on the wheel it's self.. I've had two customers with XS power turbos that I've turned away ( wanting a system built around them) that had this oversight.

so have you driven the car? or are you revving it in neutral?

it should boost like hell with a .84 hot side.

maybe it only has a 5psi WG spring?

First of all I would check for some sort of boost leaks, its very common on newly installed turbo to blow loose a coupling or a line. What BOV are you using? It wasn't one of the ones that came with kit was it? The TiAL knock offs? That could be major leak there if it isn't functioning correctly.

Hell on one of my cars I blew pipes loose for first month or so before everything got lined out. You problem really does sound like some sort of leak.

Next I would suggest the turbo, one of the local guys here bought one of the cheapo ebay turbos and it has blown oil since start up.

I dont know the TiALknock offs or not but seem like its stay close when i rev it up. And why bov have anything to do with no boost. Guys i know i make a misstake bought that turbo so please help fix this prolem then i get me a better turbo later... thanks Helium rush5...

Sounds like you have more problems than the turbo itself. Fuel, ignition, bad boost leak, bad tuning, dare I say...low compression.

The BOV could be leaking boost, causing a no to low boost situation.

You get what you pay for. People that buy no name crap off of ebay for a fraction of the going rate for name brand components shouldnt be surprised......

I have a feeling this is related more to the install than the turbo itself. I know everyone loves to hate on the ebay stuff and a lot of times I dont disagree but this sounds like other problems other than the turbo. I am interested in how this will turn out. Please take it to a rotary performance shop and let us know how it turns.

Lets look back at when he said it takes forever to reach 60? Hell with a blown pipe it should reach 60 in a "normal" kind of way, is your leading ignition firing? If anyone has ever had leading coil go out on them will know what I am talking about, you have not power what so ever.

If motor starts pretty easy chances are your motor is fine.

a forced induction engine will have a lower compression ratio than a n/a engine. with no boost it is normal to feel like your car has less ***** than a n/a car.

I can't believe you bought an FD (13k or more?) but wouldnt spring the extra 250 bucks for a GOOD turbo. And now as soon as this one doesnt work instantly you're ready to just go buy another one? if you have enough money to do that why did you buy this piece of autochrome **** in the firstplace? I jsut dont get some people. when it comes to anything that requires precision and engineering stay the hell away from ebay.
