Down to 2

Im down to 2 turbo kits left for me to choose. Which would give me faster quarter mile times the Apexi RX-6 Single Turbo Kit or the GReddy T-88 Single Turbo Kit?
Would the A'PEX Power FC ecu work well with these kits?

The modifications i have:
GReddy Power Extreme Exhaust
GReddy PRofec B Spec Boost Controller
GReddy Turbo Timer
GReddy Airinx Intake

Future Mods:
Street Ported 13BTT Engine
GReddy 3 Row FMIC
and more but i can't think of them right now

RX-6 or T-88??? The extremes (small single, large single).

If you have everything to back it up (engine, drivetrain, driver, etc.), the T-88 will make more power and will get better 1/4 mile times.

Why not something in between?

I was thinking the same thing.

rx6 - one of the smallest
t88 - one of the largest

The t88 will make some huge power but not with the mods you have. You need lots of fuel mods if you go with the t88 in order to push it to its efficiency range, ~20+ psi. Either way you need fuel mods and you need to debate which ecu you want first. Haltech is good, Power fc is more common, and there are others. You need to work more on preparing for the single rather than worring about which one you are going to get right now.

I have the T04E kit and I am happy with it. I think you should look for something in between these two you mentioned.

t-66 or t78 or maybe the gt35/40 should be a good choice of turbo. haltech e11 ecu. You will need the same fuel upgrades for any single turbo; inj, fuelrail, fuel pump.

If i choose the T-88 and sometime in the future if the turbo breaks down how would i rebuild it or fix it? Would i have to but a new turbocharger?

I agree with the people above - get something in the middle. Both the RX6 and the T88 are great turbos, but in a totally different league. The RX6 is a street turbo which spools up fairly quick and makes good power. The T88 is the limit for a streetturbo, is a very comman drag racing turbocharger, has a high boost efficiency range, lots of lag, but makes INSANE amounts of power.

I would suggest something in the Gt35/40 or T04E range instead. It all comes down to basically how much power you want to make. Want to make UNDER 425 rwhp? RX6 is great! Want to make OVER 500 rwhp? T88 is great!

Also remember with a turbo turbo like the T88 you need serious mods to make use of it... ported engine, larger fuel system, etc.

the gt35/40 spools quite similar to the APEXi RX6...the lag in the gt35/40 is very tolerable

The T78 car falls back from a GT35/40 car, but when you hit 6K RPM, it's like the T78 gets a 50 shot of N02 and makes up a good part of the lost car lengths. Driver skill, traction ends up making the difference.

Unless all you want is a top drag car then I'd go with the T88 if the other choice is the GT35/40. If you want a streeable car with some power down low (less than 5k rpms) then I'd forget the T88.

Is that true though the GT35/40 could produce up to 700 hp? It is up for sale at rx7store.net
Also lets say i have two rx7 with the same mods i have listed but one of the rx7 has the GT35/40 and the other has the T-88. Which one would have faster quarter mile times and which one would win in a race?

The GT3540 might be able to suppt 700@ the crank but I haven't seen proof yet. It should be good for ~650 at the crank.

The T-88 will be faster in the 1/4 on a ported motor because it can push higher boost levels yeilding higher HP #'s.

You're not quite getting what your being told though. The T-78 is the closest Greddy turbo to compare to the GT34/40 & can suppt over 500RWHP. The T-88 is a freaking huge turbo that has even more lag than a T-78!

My point is the GT3540 will spool quick & get you up to ~500RWHP, The T-78 will spool in ~500-1K RPMs later & can suppt up to ~590RWHP, & the T-88 spools even slower than the T-78 but can suppt 600 or more RWHP.

Then there is the RX6, T04S, T04R, T51's, & GT4245.
See where I'm going with this? There's a lot of turbos out there to choose from & you're comparing two turbos from opposite ends of the highly visible spectrum...

What are you looking for with your car? Dedicated 10sec drag car or powerful street car with low 11's capability?
