DaVinci Motorworks / Garrett AF61R turbocharger

Yeah so, I was looking around RXTuner.com and I came by this article that mentioned a turbo made for the turbo rotary enthusiest. I personally was impressed with the numbers ( 393rwhp - 13psi @ 3700rpms on an unported 13b-rew ). I was wondering has anybody else used this turbo or seen it for that matter. I've searched all over this site to find it & it seems that it's unexplored territory. I was thinking about throwing in on a S4 13BT with a stage: 1 street port and some other internal mods. If anyone can supply some thoughts or info on this, i'd be appreciative.

60-1 on a second gen for anything under 375rwhp will be the best out their.

I'm talking about full boost(13psi) from 3700rpms to redline. Yes, that would be spool time

if you are only running 13lbs than get a 60-1.

AF61R compares pretty favorably to the 60-1. It a great alternative to that turbo, and Ron offers top notch customer support. Probably save hima couple bucks too.

I'd much rather have the AF61R to a 60-1. The 61R kicked *** at 13psi, and would kick even more at 18-20 psi. The 60-1 just doesn't have what it takes to match up.

The good thing about the 60-1 is that you can find setups on Ebay for dirt cheap. However just over $2000 for the 61R is pretty damn cheap too.

Well there seems to be a large discrepency with what shops claim their kits make and what they actually DO make...not naming any shop in particular but its more then one. 393whp@13psi seems a bit optimistic, maybe the dyno is set for 10,000 ft altitude correction;p

A-Spec did the dyno, AND the tuning ... I trust that number was real.

WTF is an AF61?
Sounds like an IHI?
It sounds suspiciously like the A'PEXi stuff...AX53, AX75, etc.?

It's not Apexi, IHI or anything else. It's a Garrett unit.

AF61R, is this some proprietary designation for a standard Garrett?

I believe the car is in the RXtuner.com site under Articles "Going Single" That could help explain alot of questions. Hell, this would be where this topic originated

It was red, had the new veilside kit on it...

The name AF61R was given to it by Davinci.

393 RWHP at 13PSI boost on stock ports?

Not with normal street gas, or without water/alky injection. Pure BS!
