Since I am a new owner and I dont know much about turbo kits for the FD, I have been trying to do some research on this site. Its hard to tell whats BS and whats not. This kit interested me for a couple of reasons.
1.) It was only $2250
2.) It made around 400HP on a stock motor
3.) It was from a company in Chicago (Davinci, even though I have never heard of them) which is basically local for me.

I thought RXTuner would be a reliable source to do some reading and reasearch...now people say that article is BS...how do you know what BS and whats not? Who or where are reliable sources for info on this board?

They are not anywhere near Chicago, more like St louis. It would be highly unlikely that it made 400hp on stock ports 13lbs, and there are very few reliable sources left on this board. The problem with any publication in this industry is it is only as good as the source.

Aren't you with Aspec? He dynoed it there so that number is from your dyno.

I still just want the turbo, I need not use the whole setup. I have an FC3S so buying the whole kit wouldn't be as much use as just the turbo. That and a turbosmart wastegate shall be used on my project.

Well, that's great. Talk trash about the owner of the car, not Davinci.

I didn't see any negative remarks from Zero R. And since the magazine and people in this thread say that A-spec did the dyno test, it's perfectly reasonable for him to ask for some simple details in order to recall the specific vehicle.

Funny cuz nowhere do I see that name pop up in your quote. That would be a assumption on your part not trash talking on mine. There is a difference. Simply put I am not going to have people claim they made X hp by me without my knowledge. If that car did that I would be the first to stand here and back it up. Ryan can only go by what the owner or shop tells him. To my credit Ryan knows me well enough, he took their word that if my shop did it, it probably did. Ever notice how many crazy HP 7's are in SS or Modified? Anyone who builds them knows what is being stretched where. So now please again I would like to see where I attacked Davinci, quote me go ahead.

I'm going to have back Zero R on this badboy, it seems as if you're projecting. He never spoke ill of Davinci, nor did he say that the owner of said car was being untrue. He just said that he did not remember the car, this could be attributed to the fact that: A; The car was brought through a third party and so he is not able to cross reference the name given in the article to whomever had the car dyno'd. B:He was busy. C: The sheet/file was somehow lost. Or, D: The numbers are false.

It's all up for grabs.

My question is why is LUPE going ballistic on us?

Who's going ballistic? It sounded as if Zero was saying that DaVinci made that number up. Mike Brant came back from his dyno with the numbers.

Unless he came off my dyno in the past 8weeks it wasn't "my" dyno. If he has a sheet and we tuned it great. Hats off to him, and to Davinci, and to us. I don't remember the car at this point.

I have to agree with everyone else. Nowhere in this thread did Sean speak ill of anyone. He did mention that a lot of shops do stretch numbers these days, and that is all too true. Let's just drop the trash talking point and wait until someone can post a dyno sheet to back up the claimed whp numbers. Just my .02

I remember the car coming back with almost unbelievable numbers... Had I not seen it run, I would have called BS. Theres another FD at the shop with the same turbo.. It's freakin rediculous how fast the AF61R spools, and how hard the car pulls. I'm getting rid of my TO4R in favor if it.. The AF61 may not have the top end of the TO4R, but it stomps my car to death on the streets.. pulls like the twins on crack..

Justin, do you have access to any of these dyno sheets that everyone wants to see?

I have to admit, I did NOT see the actual dyno print-out from Mike. But I DID ride in the car, and it was nuts. It was about a 55-60 degree day, so a bit slick ... but at about 3500rpm even in 3rd the *** came around so fast you had no choice but to let off. It would seriously spin them a bit in 4th too, and he was running 12-13psi.

If I was a better journalist I would have insisted on a dyno print-out, but the ride in the car convinced me. The tune was a bit rough for part throttle driving, but WOT was a beast.

Because of seeing and feeling it in person for myself, I'm going with the AF61R for my FC.

What hotside do you have, I cannot imagine a better street turbo than the 67 I am running, it's bloody fast. I submitted my dynos to the dyno comparo site, they should be up in a day or two. .81 P trim BTW, I am going to pick up a .84 divided water cooled for my next manifold, I am on the cast right now making 500rwhp@23psi with over 400ftlbs from 4500 on up. Hey Carl, how long did it take you to see the 23psi? I think what everyone is getting at about this turbo is that it's supposed to spool like a GT35R but with more top end. But without seeing any dyno sheets of what has been mentioned or dyno sheets for 16-18psi that is all just a guess. It's just cool to think that there is more than one choice for those of us who HAVE to have extremely fast spool and still upwards of 400whp. I still think that A-Spec's T4 hotsided 35R's are the ticket though.

In 3rd gear pulling from~2700 RPM, I would hit ~8200 rpm in 2.5-3 seconds on a dynojet(I have video, but it is HI-8). A little faster on a Dynapack. The car can light up my 13" slicks like they're 225s My sheets are linked on my thread, or go to members cars on TeamFC3S, then to photos, I have the graphs scanned there. I'd say 0-60mph in under 3 seconds. I found a guy who will sell me new ITS67 water cooled divided, .84 for ~1000.00

Here's the link to some dynos, this is after 30 pulls on a 90* day double click on each graph. The O2 sensor blew out on the 506hp pull. Carl http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/member...tos&car_id=562

Nothing to do with your journalistic abilities. Not to worry. I'm certianly not bothered by it.

You sure you werent drunk and misread the boost gauge? There is no way in hell a stock motor is going to make those numbers at 12 lbs. I have been 350HP cars that will kick the *** around.
