Damnit, need help

Ok, I did the vacumme line simplification everyone told me to do, I do it and now it doesnt run for crap. It will rev to about 2,000rpms and it will start stuttering and poping. It worked fine on and off for about a week then it went to ****. Anyone have any ideas? Im running a pettit ecu, does that have anything to do with it.. Should I just put all those damn things back in?

Most probably you did something wrong. Pettit ECU has nothing to do with it.

Re-check to make sure nothing popped off. Check the map sensor line (Black box by firewall) If nothing else try resetting the ECU. Just remove the negative battery cable and stand on the brake pedal for 30 seconds or so... Reconnect and try again.

It's MUCH easier to diagnose these problems with a clean engine bay. If you get around to it maybe sometime over the winter.... remove the UIM and get rid of everything stock under there.. Run all new, fresh lines to the few things you need, and make sure everything else is eliminated.

Good luck.

Ok. Well, if it ran good for a while after you did the simplification and all of the sudden started acting up.. That leads me to believe that you did everything right, just something popped off... If you snap some pics maybe we can find it.

Did you unplug anything, or just do vacuum lines?

Here are pictures of whats under there.. i just took them. I unpluged a few things.. I also routed my coolant line for the throttle body back straight ot the motor... Let me know if theres anything i need to take out or readd.. if you can maybe circle it in paint or somthing?

Well my hose simplification was alot simpler than yours...any reason your keeping any of that stuff in there? Why not get block off plates and go the whole way?

I am asking seriously - no sarcasim intended. (just wanted to clarify so the thread wouldnt vear off into flameland.)

You can get the plates from rx7store.net.

Honestly it's hard to tell. I forget what all goes on in that damn rat's nest... It's very simple to diagnose a problem with all that stuff out of there... Although you did simplify the system it's still difficult to figure out what goes where... Even while looking at the hose diagram. I'll keep poking away at it and see if I can come up with anything else..

Now that I think about it... I believe (And someone correct me if I am wrong) that the ECU you are using is designed to control the stock sequential system. With the T78 installed, all the vacuum lines remained to fool the ECU into thinking nothing was changed. When you simplified the system, you obviously removed some lines. I see the front 2 solenoids have no hoses or plugs on them (Yellow and pink plugs forgive me I forget their function)... Nor do the wastegate and precontrol solenoid plugs (the green and white rectangle plugs) I think that you need to unplug those solenoids with no lines on them and put resistors in them... ( I forget the size) ...I'm not sure about the wastegate and precontrol plugs.. I'll see if I can get someone in here to help me out so I don't lead you in the wrong direction...
