Chromoly Axles: when do you need them??
what is the limit on the stock FD axles?? i know there are a lot of factors envolved here like the amount of traction...etc. but i wanna know, running on drag radials, how much HP will it take to snap the stockers?? are they a weaklink in the FD's drivetrain?? how much power is required to necessitate upgraded or Chomoly Axles??
thanks.

I've used them and are using some on my customer's cars. Much better than stock. My buddy have been running them for about 1yr now with no breakage. His car runs 10.0's at 140mph with a 1.39 60ft.
Yes Alfred they have it for the FC's. They are made from 300M chrome moly! I can also get the CV's and drive flanges made from the same material for a 99% almost un-breakable rear set-up. The next weak link would be the output shaft in the tranny

I'm interested as well. I'd love to have a bullet proof rear end w/o having to swap to a solid axle. From what I've seen I guess the axles retail for around $800. I've never seen any other pieces in 300M but would love to have em.

Chris, who's making these 300M chrome moly axles for the Turbo IIs ?? and where could I purchase them from ??
I'm at least on my 7th set of axles on my FC...not a pretty sight when they break when you least expect them !!!
So they make both pieces..... I tought they were available only for theh FD..
