Arrow Help me design the rearend of my FC (suspension/drivetrain)

This winter, I will be upgrading my turbo on my FC and trying to get over 700 rwhp out of her.... here are my options.

1. Keep the IRS and upgrade everything that has to do with it.
2. Rip out the IRS and put in a 4-link

Now, my car is a street car. I don't do any road racing or autocrossing, but I do get into corners sometimes... but I've never pushed my car. I've driven my dad's WS6 with a 4-link in it and its not THAT bad... i could definitely live with it... but it kind of makes it a "Not Rx7". But, my car is a street cruiser, and its second home will be on the drag strip, so keep that in mind. No, I'm not going to backhalf it (yet )

Price is not a huge factor here, but it is a factor none the less. If I end up keeping the IRS and it snaps, I'll have to spend twice as much and go with the 4-link.

Keeping the IRS:
---------------------
Upgrade to a either a Kaaz LSD or a Guru torsion setup.
Custom Chromoly axels from strange
Custom carbon fiber or chromoly driveshaft
Tien Coilovers all around
Never been tried by anyone, and may not hold the power.

4-link:
--------
I don't know much about these.
Requires chasis work
Many different rearend options that are nearly bulletproof
custom chromoly axels
Custom carbon fiber or chromoly driveshaft.
Less than precise handling.
No problem holding my intended power.

any ideas guys? can you inform me a bit on the 4-link conversion?

Also, which would be better (price non-restrictive), a Chromoly driveshaft or a Carbon Fiber piece?

Thanks for ANY input!

I've seen people mention using the IRS from a corvette for high horsepower applications, its aluminum and looks very beefy.
You may want to look into that.

Would the FD axles from RP work on an FC?

I forget where I've seen it before.
Probably early 90s or so.

Nick, to go 4-Link, you need to from behind the seats to the rear of the car in tubular or square chromoly. Nascars use 4 link systems BTW so the handling is still there and can be tunned to a T. You are going to need the following

-Chassis Work
-Ford 9" and some gears
-Strange Axels
-Rod Ends
-4 Link Kit
-Diaganol Link
-Coilovers
-Fuel Cell
-Fuel Lines
-Shock Mounts (most 4 link kits have these, mine didnt so I bought them)

Basically a backhalf would needed. Nick Give me a call, I got my new cell from nextel so its on again
