Can't go straight!

Hey guys my buddy has an FD w/ a t78 upgrade, 100 shot Nos, and a bridgeport. The car is making over 600 horses but we can't seem to get the car to go straught. Wer'e using MT wrinkle wall slicks, but everytime you shift, the car aims for the wall. What is the problem? The car has a roll cage, Tokiko 5way adj. shocks, and skinnies up front. This past Friday the car ran a 12.1 @ 95mph, the car was all over the place.

This is true...or they have low post counts...

A friend of mine has a T-51S boosting 1.4 - 1.5 (That's what...20 to 22 psi) respectively...Bridgeported...SDS...blah blah blah...well over 500+ hp...probably getting closer to the 600 hp end. With a 100 shot nitrous...EASY 600+ hp...

...and he's not even a member of this forum.

Incase you haven't noticed my post count is over a 1000, I'm a grown man and I've got better things to do than post **** on here for no reason.

sounds like one of four things i could think off.

1.) bad alignment

2.) too much tire pressure

3.) too little tire pressure

4.) bad track preparation

if it's the alignment, you know how to fix that. If its the tire pressure, you should be able to fix that too. typically, you want to run around 13.5-14.5psi of tire pressure in the back and around 40psi up front. anything over and under will make the car unstable.

as for the track prep, there's nothing you can do but if you're the only person having this problem, chances are, its the car and not the track......

Peanut butter, we're all good sports here. Peace bro!

Pluto, thanks for the advice. When I'm in 1st gear the car goes straight. 2nd gear I have to steer the wheel a 1/4 turn to go straight. 3rd gear 1/2 a turn to go straight. I haven't had the ***** to go into 4th gear yet. Do you think that the chassis is just flexing? If so how do I fix that?

We have a cage but we only have the bottom pieces welded on right now. We're kinda building the cage as we go along so its a slow progress. We're hoping that if it comes out good we'll make more kits and sell em at the shop. The cage will be finished by the weekend so I'll let you know what happens.
The cage should definately help huh?

I am thinking the cage(tied into everything) should help keep everything straight. After re-reading though it sounds more like an alignment problem though.

I'm not a race car suspension tech, but I'd personally do what pluto said to do, and then finish up that cage and see where you're at.

Sounds to me like you could have a broken PPF. It could be anything mentioned so far but the PPF is weak and can't hold 600hp. You might want to check the rear shocks and make sure they are OK. One weak shock will make a drag car pull one way or the other.

If all is ok with the car then it could be the driver...

Try running on stock wheels up front, maybe he is over correcting.

Try running without your powersteering belt, the car is SO MUCH more stable on top end.

I run MT ET Streets and every time I would shift from 3rd to 4th the car would sway a little in the back, just a little. I removed my power steering recently and the car feels SO MUCH more stable at higher speeds. Maybe its just me but it could be the driver also.

Like everyone said, check the PPF, i cracked mine once and the same thing happened, the car felt looser. It also could be the slicks are too wide adn the wheel is not wide enough to handle the slick.

We finished the roll cage last night! today we took it up to 100mph and she felt very stable. We're going to the Nopi Drag wars this weekend, I think everything will be O.K!
