jus like it says i need to buy a waste gate but i don't know what size i should be getting this is my set up if it helps. 13b-re, with a 60-1 turbonetics turbo, custom manifold made, 3.5-4" down pipe coned down to 3" all the way back. no cats. i wanna be running maybe i guess 18 psi on the track and 12-15 on the street? is that enough boost to get the most out of that turbo? any help is great thx

Yep. You can't go wrong with TIAL stuff. I have both the TIAL 46mm WG and the TIAL BOV.

Their gates are very reliable and well machined. Some people have been having slight problems with the BOV's.

 

I use the Tial 40mm without any problems...I also have the tial bov(which I also posted how to setup right in another forum), it needs the light spring to work..max

I dont mean to sound like an idiot. But since it was brought up what exactly is the difference between a wastegate and a bov?? Im assuming that a wastage is after turbo or on the exhaust side and the bov is on the intake side usually after the intercooler right? Well if this is the case what exactly is a Pop off valve??

 

a pop off vavle is a saftey device used on some stock cars,

it is designed to release at a certain boost level.

so if the car is designed to run a 7psi, the pop off will usually go at 10psi.

it is not controlled by vacuum like a BOV it will just release when a cetain pressure is reached.

 

Im susprised then that more 7s dont have a pov.. It seems with all of the engines that are blowing b/c of boost spikes this would be the best way to go...
