stock touring (FD) single oil cooler with TO4S

Has anyone had any problems running a single oil cooler with a TO4S on a 3rd gen?

I need opinions on whether I should upgrade to R1 dual coolers or save money for a Greddy, CWR or whatever pops up when I do research on buying. I would like to think since the turbo is water-cooled I wouldn't have to upgrade but I know after all is said and done, it would be a good idea.

you would just be buying a extra for reliability purposes. From what I have heard the extra oil cooler that the R1 offers, is not that great. Go with 2 upgraded ones, they look better.

I have that setup and have not run into any coolant problems at all. May go to 2 coolers just for ***** and giggles-good luck. B

I installed my T04S in my R-1 and got really nervous because of the heat coming from the oil coolers. I did not have any gauge readings but it was physically hotter from my twins. I was told to pay close attention to them and the oil pressure. I decided to replace with the CWR twin coolers and they are significantly cooler. I am also using a 99 air duct. The pressure is also lower after the thermostat opens.

yeah i have a stock oil cooler with my to4s adn it works fine. no over heating. try using valvaline 20-50, joe from smokin joe;s racing said it runs cooler oil temps. you should be fine with the stock oil cooler but it is always good to upgrade if you have the money. good luck.
