Bought a Garrett and dont know what one i have some questions
hello i just bought an extra turbo for my 89 FC its a garret something haha the specs are .50 AR coldside, 1.00 hotside, Twin scroll T4 flange, 4inch v-band not sure if its journal or ball bearing it may be an older model but i was just wondering what it is?
With these kind of specs when will i hit max boost on a street port? cuz i dont want to much lag but i am kind of suspecting some
Thank you

spool should be decent since its a divided scroll 1.0, you're not choking it on that end. does it have both coolant and oil lines for the chra? Could help determine if its ball bearing or not.

There's no way to know that it's too small without properly ID'ing it, to do that you need to take both housings off and measure both wheels on the inducer and exducer. Otherwise you are just guessing, Garrett turbos are not one size fits most. For that matter, no turbos are one size fits most. A/R on the compressor side tells you nothing about which wheel it is and how much it will flow. A/R on the exhaust is completely dependent on the exhaust wheel, since A/R is just a ratio.
Divided T4 is good for rotaries. Punctuation is your friend.
