boost source for wastegate??
where are others getting there boost source to send to the wastegate?
i am having a problem controlling the boost on my wastegate.
hks 10# spring but i am seeing as much as 15#'s of boost. and boost is very erratic. 10-11-13-9-14
i was thinking that the boost signal to my wastegate is not strong enough? right now I have it running from one of the nipples coming off the upper intake manifold.
my turbo does not have a hole on the compressor housing for boost source. but I can tap another line into the elbow that comes out of the turbo befor it goes to the intercooler.
does this seem like the problem? I ordered a smaller spring to go in as well and will use my boost controller later on.
thanks for any input.

best spot is on the compressor housing or like you said on the elbow after it. if you are having erratic boost usually it is a vacuum leak of some sort, even a small one will cause problems. i have seen situations where people put the source for the WG and the BC on the same line but when the solenoid cycles it actually bleeds to air causing the WG to flutter along with the solenoid. i dont know your exact setup but if your lines are correct and you still get boost spike then your WG may just be too small!! at any rate good luck to ya!!

I still have not got around to taping my elbow for another line to run to the wastegate.
my current setup.
i have the line running from the upper intake manifold down to the side of the wastegate. and the other conection on the wastegate on the end is just vented to air right now.
I am not running my boost controller, i was just trying to run off the wastegate spring.
my wastegate is a hks 40mm standard. when i ordered it, the place online had it listed as the racing wastegate 50mm. but i was wondering why it was a lot less than other places.
I will change the source for the line, check for vacum leaks and go from there.
thanks, for the advice Marcus
