Boost Creep Problems
Having a problem. I have a Tial 40 MM wastegate. I bought a 14.5 psi spring well at least i thought it was and its not doing its job at all. It will boost to 20 psi if i remove the Boost Limiter from the Power Fc. Not good. Everyone thinks My davinci is to big for the wastegate but the kit originally came with a Tial 40mm so i cant see that being the case. Anyone have any creep problems with their single turbo setup?? When i bought the spring is said for tial 38mm and tial 44 mm. They discontinued the Tial 40mm. For the 38 mm its 14.5 psi, for the 44 i believe its 13.5 so i figured since i have a 40mm it should be some where in between. Will a exhaust leak cause this? My Vband clamp is slightly to big and doesnt seal the back of the turbo properly, it leaks from right there. I will be doing that over very soon but will that cause my problem?? I dont want to go and spend 500 bucks for a new wastegate and it doesnt fix my problem. Just trying to run 15 psi without any creep. It's annoying because since it wants to go to 20 psi as soon as the Power Fc sees that its getting there it will fuel cut anything past that and cause a breakup and that really sucks at 7k rpm where im trying to shift. It just ***** everything up when racing and trying to shift in the higher rpms.
Im going to put the original spring back in which is green and see what that does. I think thats about 10 psi. If i can get 10 psi to redline without it creeping than i can raise the rest with my profec b. We'll see, but do you guys have any suggestions for me? Thanks.

When looking at the Horsepower freaks web site they have a 38mm with a 40 mm top. My top is 40 mm hence 40mm wastgate. But when looking at the description it says all the gates come with two springs??? Why not just use the 38mm spring like i did?? Do you guys think that may be my problem right there? Maybe the tension is just not enough from that one 38/44mm spring for my 40 mm gate to hold a accurate psi??

Spoke to Tial and they said The wastegate could be to small and that the spring shouldnt be a issue. Said there was no reason why it should run more boost. Im gonna put the stock spring back in for now and see what happens.
