Which boost controller to use for big single?
I currently have the greddy profec B for my stock turbo's.
Doing some neccesary research for potentially going single this spring.
What do you guys think of the profec A or the HKS EVC IV?
I used to have the AVC-R and hated it..but then again, i was trying to use a fuzzy logic controller on sequential turbo's and i found it a pain in the *** to tune cause im really impatient:p
Would something like the avc-r or new blitz controller be good w/regards to traction issues? (lower boost in lower gears, etc)

In my opinion, the boost controller you already have is specifically made for external gates, As far as a controllable boost controller the APEXi AVC-D is made for external wastegates. The reason I am stating these boost controllers is because they're simple to use and are not limited to a boost limit like most electronic boost controllers are. These are the type of boost controllers the pros use because they're simple, exactly what you want in a race car. Just my 2 cents.

Personally i think the Profec B is the worst boost controller out there..i had severe boost control problems with it.. i currently run the HKS EVC EZ stepper and it works perfectly

i have a profec A and it works really good also better than the HKS one in my opinion best set up to me would be the new blitz one with the power meter added to the combo!

I use the APEXi AVC-R. This works well and my wife likes the pretty display. Seriously, the display is nice.
So far, the controller has done its job.

I also like to keep things simple.. I don't like the fancy electronic ones(greddy or hks).. Good old manual for me thanks.. I did just get the haltech boost solenoid and will be hooking that up soon. Anyone use one before?

The A is fun to setup ... doesn't always learn boost the first time .... but still easier to setup than the AVC-R. I just started using it and so far I like it.

One reason that I would not want to use it, just off the top of my head, I don't want to have to pull the laptop out to change my boost level. Sure, you could PROBABLY use the trim **** to adjust it... but I like to have the boost controller device there to look at, makes it easier in my book.

Blitz SBC-iD
The new SBC i-D is really neat. It's very small and I am sure it's smaller than what alot of you think it looks like in the picture. Something like 3/4 or size of your palm.
At any rate, the Blitz Dual SBC came out the best from the test because it utilitizes dual boost control solenoid, so it controls the wastegate better and not allow leakage which helps to shape the boost curve and power curve.
You can have 4! yes 4! separate boost setting even tho most of you probably just need 2 for Lo/Hi. Also max boost control for SBC iD is 38psi.
As for the fancy stuff, the SBC-iD has the features similiar to the Apexi AVCR. In conjunction with the Power Meter via Infared sharing, you are able to control boost via speed and stuff. Haven't look into that one, but probably not as useful for street cars but depending on individual.
Overall, the SBC iD is hot, looks nice, very trendy and makes AVCR alittle old fashioned. But with that it comes a hefty price tag.
For people that want to go with a more economical EBC, look into the Blitz Dual SBC regular. They use the same solenoid as the SBC iD (max pressure 38psi), and are very small and easy to use. Priced cheaper than AVC-R.
Profec B is very nice and very economical. But because it's a MBC in mind, and doesn't have fuzzy logic, you will need to adjust the "gain" **** on occasion to cut down boost creeping due to weather and elevation changes. But is the most bang for the buck boost controller we have ever used.
