Beginning a FD build...Need Advice (Noob)

Hey Guys/Girls,

I am new to RX7's but this forum has been a huge help...I have a good idea of what i want to do, but i want honest opinions.

First off im a DSM'er previously...So this is a whole new ball park in which i will be using a shop to do a lot of the work for me...

Now i have a power goal of about 450-500
Car will be driven maybe 3-4 times a week and sit in the garage the rest (weekend car).

I had first thought:
Standalone
Fuel System
T78 Single
Maybe a street port

Now how realistic is this, and how much do you think this will cost? This will be a mostly street driven car with maybe 2-3 visits to the track a year (tops). ANY HELP AND ALL OPINIONS WOULD BE AWESOME GUYS THANKS!

-Kenny

P.S. I have been hearing great thins about T & R, thats where i was planning on going. What are your thoughts on that also?

Alot depends on which shop you take it to among other things.

Are you planning on having your engine built, as well ?

Are you planning on buying new or used parts for your build ?

It can be done for as little as a few thousand or cost as much as $15,000.

So far it looks like im going to T & R Racing because they are the closest to me, and i hear they do greeaat work...

Engine build i wasn't sure of because i heard it's not worth it until something happens to the motor (bad wise).

I do plan to use mostly new parts unless i can get a good deal on like ECU and stuff thats in good used condition...

Hope this info helps

stock ports with a T78 is doable, but you may find it laggier than you like. just make sure you get a well designed manifold with a wastegate that is big enough to handle that turbo.

Yeah I agree and it seems kinda silly to spend all this money and not spend a couple hundred extra to have it street-ported.

How reliable is a street port motor on a big T78...And if the motor is built how much more power will i make?

Thanks again,
Kenny
