I have one of these turbos that I have been trying to sell. It is the RHX6 with the P27F housing. The car I bought had the entire Apexi kit and the guy took the IHI turbo off and put on a Garrett 70mm inducer BB one instead. I had been having a hard time finding info on it. He gave it to me with the car!

Think 500 bucks is a good deal for this? No shaft play... whatsoever.

IHI Turbo

Utilizing a Dynojet and this turbo (T25 flange and a/r:1.0) here are yesterdays results:

STOCK port, 550cc/1300cc, 91 octane w/appropriate fuel mods, NGK BUR9E (X4), Apexi PFC and most importantly Steve Kan tuning= 369WHP @ 15#.

Same turbo on a 7M Supra motor= 635WHP @ 25#.

I've been running an RX6 for a couple years now with no problems (pretty light street/track use). The turbo is perfect for a street/track car in my opinion...you really don't need more than 350 hp IMHO as anything more requires substantial tire/suspension/braking upgrades.

I've posted info about the install HERE, and the dyno run results are on THIS THREAD.

ditto, i have had a rx6 for awhile and it all good on the street, spins the wheels in third and ive got a 285 rear tire. Perfect for street/strip good turbo, 400hp in a rotary is hella fast.

400whp is enough for me, i was just curious about the other's set up on the RX6 and how much power they achieved on the max. I had my rx6 for about 7 months now and really loving it, very good for street and track like you guys said. Spool is unbelievable and i never experienced any lag at all. im putting down 406whp/ 340wtq and i think its enough

I can't get my RX6 to go past 14-15 PSI. Is this normal? Also, I am not getting the nice clean Cha. BOV sound, it sounds more like a combination of compressor surge and BOV. I am running a Blitz BOV and a Greddy Profec S for boost control.

Hi, today i can get a t35/40 Garrett kit for the same money as an Apexi
AX75F82/92. None of the forums give a clear cut answer as to whether the Apexi is superior. What would you choose? Cheers

Would anyone happen to know of any one the may have a compressor wheel to suit and RX6 turbo?

It seems it is impossible to get anything from Apexi/IHI - but i thought someone here might have a lead?

Or maybe someone might even have something laying around?!?!?

Cheers

Hey man I'm running the same turbo as you here is my specs.

apexi RX6B Kit
large streetport
rebuild w/rotary aviation master kit
rx7store extreme fuel system
hks twin pwr ignition system
greddy fmic
greddy elbow + bov
koyo rad
hks gd pro twin plate clutch
power fc
blitz 3" full exhaust, mid pipe
no ac, no emissions

i still haven't gotten the car back from my mechanic but even when i do i have to do the break in. still trying to find a larger wastegate spring so i can go up to 20psi. but once that's all done i am hoping for 400RWHP+ on pump gas.

I have a friend who runs the Apex'i AX75F92.

We both have the same exact port, same fuel system, and also used the same tuner to tune our cars.

I made 378RWHP at 1kg. He made 387 at the same boost levels. My car spools a tad bit faster (maybe more response by 500rpm) but it's barely noticeable.

Both kits are good. I've had mine since 2002 with no problems at all. I still drive and track the car hard quite often too

question from Indonesia about RX6 Turbo

Hi,

I just purchased a turbo. The seller claimed that this turbo is RX6 turbo. Just want to confirm with you wheter this turbo is genuine Apexi RX6 turbo or not :

Specification: IHI VA 490033 0408
Series ; RH6 10044C

Kindly advice whether is this genuine RX6 turbo or not ? Thanks a lot.

From Apexi info you have the option from
AX53B60 to AX53B70
with 57 trim
inducer sizes from 46 to 53
exducer sizes from 60 to 70
with T25 flange or t3 in some cases.

to RX6B Series
with comp Trim from 48 to 57
inducer sizes from 54 to 61
exducer sizes from 78 to 82
exhaust A/R from 13mm to 27mm

up to AX75F82 or F92
with comp Trim from 50 to 61
inducer sizes from 61 to 64
exducer sizes from 82 (AX7582F) to 92 (for the 92F)
exhaust A/R 25mm only.

So you can see, the RX6 turbo is something like the T04S turbo in size. You will see something like 400hp from this turbo but if your engine is in good condition, probably more.

this is what we got from customers setup:

Well, I can not tell by numbers you have provided. However, the VA490033 seems to belong to TCW77 compressor. However, if you post some pictures, I might be able to tell you more.
