apexi bnr33 fuel pump...?

im looking to change my fp to get to the 500whp mark. i have a supra tt pump now but i think that will limit me when i tune for race fuel. i am wonder if anyone has used the apexi bnr33 pump. they say it is good for 600whp but i want some proof before i spend the $400 for it. if anyone has experience with one of them post up and let me know how it worked out for you.

It's handled 19 psi on my 500R with no problems. I don't know if it'll handle 600 rwhp due to the internal diverter valve limiting the amount of fuel (and thus boost) pressure.

I'm having the same urges. I need to read up more on this gtr fuel pump.

Goodfellafd3s how much power did you make on your 500r at 19psi? Also what is your fuel setup interms of injectors and what was your duty cycle at that boost?

Rich,
Who tuned your car for you finally?
What did you make on the dyno again? 460?

Actually it's only loud when you turn the ignition to contact.

Otherwise I don't hear it at all with a Knightsports Metallit cat and Racing Beat dual. And that exhaust is too loud for me.

Unfortunately guys, I STILL havent made it to the freaking dyno. Chris Carlisi is too busy to tune my FD, being that he's knee deep in his 20B project. I've driven my FD once in the last two months due to being so busy with the regular work as well as engine jobs etc. Trust me, I'm not happy about the situation.

RK, I'm running top feed 870s and 1680s, kg ultimate setup with s/s engine bay lines and aeromotive fpr. stock lines otherwise, stock relocated filter. Peak IDC, I honestly can't remember exact numbers. It's pretty high (mid to low 90s at 15 psi!), but my car is running very rich due to not being fine tuned.

Recently ErnieT posted that he ran the apexi bnr fuel pump on his old red car at 25 psi with no problems, which is good news for those running this pump.

Well.. the one i drove was running a constant 12v setup.... so you could hear the electrical buzz the wholeee time.

I can't even hear my pump. Are you sure you have this pump? THe only time it was loud was when I was running low on gas...then it would buzz a lot, besides that it is virtually as quiet as stock.

I ran mine at constant 13V for a while and it was loud when idling. Going through the stock wiring, can't hear it.

My bnr33 was run at 14 volts and it was LOUD, if you have a loud exhaust or solid diff bushings it will be drowned out and you'll never hear the pump.

I switched to a RP intank pump and even at 14 volts it's silent. Good enough for 524 rwhp at 11.x AFR on my sprayed LS1. When I push for 600 rwhp I'll put a boost-a-pump on it if it's needed.

I used to run this pump. It worked well for me, but to be sure, just run two pumps.

How much boost did you run with this pump?

24-25psi with no problems. Spiked to 28psi and still was fine.

The reason why I ask is because I want to run the gt35r up to 18-20 psi on 850cc primaries and 1600cc secondaries with the base pressure set at 40psi. People are saying that the pump is only good for 75psi of pressure (40psi base+15psi pressure loss through the lines=55psi so the max boost I can run is 20psi?).
Any insite would be great.

Where did you come up with "15 psi loss through lines"? That sounds high.

Max cooper listed it on his site as an approximation. I hope it *is* high, that works better for my purposes

Just like goodfellas said its been quoted before. I don't know if its a true figure but I just use it for reference.

It depends on your fuel setup and fuel lines to/from the tank. My lines are stock up to the Y splitter to the rails and there the lines are -6AN, then -6AN from the FPR to the stock hard lines all the way back.

The pump has a relief valve that doesn't let it go above 75 psi.

I tested my setup to see the loss, so I wired my fuel pump at the diagnostic plug and turned my FPR to the highest setting. It would not go over about 61-62 psi.

So, yea the number is fairly accurate.

Could I get more info on this pump please?
