Anyone using a CAT?

Hey guys.

I still have twins and am looking to replace my cat but have already deleted my air pump as it was a nuisance.

Any of you guys running a hfc that doesn't have the o2 inlet? I imagine the vast majority of you single turbo guys are running straight and mid pipes but thought maybe someone new of a HFC cat that bolts up to the stock config on the FD that doesn't have the o2 inlet the way the Bonez does etc.

Without an air pump your cat isn't going to last very long.

What do you mean by not last long. I've read that no air pump can lead to early CAT failure and even that's been debated from what I've read.

I misread your post.. i'm with you now. read cat and read it as car. How early have you seen them go. Is it 2000 miles or 20k?

What you read probably wasn't for an RX-7. RX-7's run rich at idle and low RPM. Without an air pump, the cat will clog over time. If you remove the air pump, you remove the cat as you will no longer pass emissions anyway and a fairly big HP boost can come from removing your cat. Keep in mind taking your cat off can change your boost/tune.

Yup I know not to take the cat off without getting a new ECU etc to control boost.

Thanks for the feed back.
