Anyone have a write for converting Harness to single setup?

I want to cut all the extra cables off my stock harness and rewire it for a single turbo setup. Wondering if anyone has done a write-up or has schematics on this.

I've removed all the emissions things and going to be running a GT35r along with 850/1600cc injectors.

Please post if you don't mind.

Thanks,
Darren

I removed a lot of wiring from the harness. I just took the harness out checked with the FSM and went from there. I've got some crappy before and after pictures around some place that I'll post later when I find them. I started color coating all the factory connectors and wires in the FSM while making a writeup, but stopped and figured it wouldn't be much use as most people don't go that crazy.
I've literally removed 10 pounds of wiring from my car. Just do remove the power steering sensor wire or you'll have to reground you gauge cluster!

This a good thread.

Here's one of my crappy after pictures.

Along with a few of the wires I removed.

And one of the pages of the FSM I was updating and used to do the conversion.

Darren, just noticed your sig. You're planning to run a 4 inch pipe with no mufflers at all?

Back up... So i just went single and I finished it up about two days ago. The idle is horrible very inconsistant. If i try to drive it in first gear it wont go past 3k then I shift to second and it wont go past 2k. I simplified the wiring harness but when I did I didnt just cut the plugs that went to the solenoids I connected them to complete the circiut then wrapped them. Could this cause the problem Im mentioning? Should I have just cut them and not connected them back together? I heard of people putting resistors in between them. Thanks

Chris

I have a picture of a labeled FD harness (manual trans). It isn't a how-to but it may help identify connectors.

No one has any other input as to whether or not the car would run different by connecting those solenoid wires.

Did you use resistors or simply connect the wires?

I just connected the wires. Could that be causing the car to run badly. And if so being that I have a PFC can I just cut them and leave them unconnected? Thanks for helping

That was very stupid of you!

You are shorting out all those circuits that you cut off the load from and then attached the wires back together without any load. It might not have damaged the necessary circuits of the PFC, but you most likely have hosed it!

Start reading and learning about things that are new to you before trying to work on them.

I had them jumped prior with just a jumper wire and everything ran fine.

Many thanks to cewrx7r1 although I am not sure if thats the particular problem right now after thinking about it I had them jumped a differnt way before. I have been asking this question for two days and you were the first to mention the problem thanks and hopefully nothing is " hosed " and yes it was very stupid indeed.

twomucboost: shouldn't you have started your own thread for your problem? Anyway, if you run the stock computer you HAVE to use resisters to jumper all the solenoids that were removed. If you just leave them disconnected you will have a CEL and driveablity problems. If you short them by using either a piece of jumper wire or cutting the connectors off and connecting the wires together you risk a chance of ruining the computer.
If you have a PFC you just leave the connectors alone or remove them completely. No need for resisters at all. I don't know what would happen to the PFC if you jumper the connectors with a piece of wire.
