I picked up a s4t2 parts car the other day and this is what I found, any one know what kind of turbo it is, besides the manufacture garrett? It has a 2 5/8 inlet and a 2 ½ outlet and a1 ¾ discharge, pretty much all it says is ar60, m33, b.c.c. and garrett it was hooked to a hks exhaust manifold and waste gate.

Looks like a T04E compressor wheel and housing. As far as which trim, you'll need much more precise measurements like compressor minor and major diameters as well as turbine wheel minor and major as well. The turbine A/R should be on the out side of the housing, but ifs its not read-able, it should be stamped on the turbine housings inlet as well. Thats all you'll get untill you pull off the turbine and compressor housings and use a caliper to measure it.

Looks like a HKS turbine housing...if you take it off the manifold and look inside the turbine housing it should be stamped with the a/r rating.
Looks to be a complete HKS turbo kit, the downpipe had to fingers that stuck out which used those to arms with holes to hold it into the grove going around the turbine wheel. Not a bad setup if there is no shaft play.

The hotside appears to be a 1.15 A/R P-trim turbine setup. Those are common on alot of off-the-shelf smaller-sized and mid-sized diesel engine or other truck setups. Some of the Borg Warner/Schwitzer stuff I've seen use those. No wonder there's such an abundance of them.
Maybe I'm mistaken and StrictlyOldSchool is right -- it might be an older HKS turbo kit from years gone.

Yep there about .035 to .040 shaft play, I am not sure what it should be, I am thinking .020 but I am not sure any one know? On the inside of the split exhaust housing it has a .84 (it is a split type) I cant get the exhaust housing off just yet it is rust on there pretty good but the compressor wheel (intake side) measures small end 2.226 or 56.56mm the large side is 2.945 or 74.81 (if that helps). The only markings on the wheel are ( 786 ) and ( A ) and a ( O ).The down pipe mount is held on buy those brackets (2 of them) and sealed buy what looks like 2 piston rings that are around the down pipe flang, RETed it isn’t a v-band thing if you are talking about the hose clap like deal.
Thanks for all your help I am sorta new to the turbo side of things I play with them some ,,about ten years ago and I have forgot most of what I learned

so it's a devided .84 hotside. Also usually shaft play is normal as long as it doesn't hit the sides of the compressor inlet. I wonder if the marking of 0 means its an o-trim exahaust wheel? The back of that exhaust housings looks like it hasn't had the vband flange welded on yet? Maybe someone can let me know if I'm write or wrong.
First off, NO it's NOT a HKS turbo kit, it IS possible however to be a turbo from an HKS kit. The reason for me saying its not a HKS kit id because the HKS "Sport Turbo" upgrade came with two style manifolds, both of which were not the HKS style log collected manifolds. The "SPORT" turbo's early on were very simular to the stock S5 manifolds being snugged up against the block divided and ran internally gated (T04E 57 trim, O trim turbine .7 A/R on the hot side). Later it ran the same snugged up manifold style, but externally gated, it ran a P-Trim .84 turbine. Both styles were able to use STOCK or AFTERMARKET downpipes bolted to the back of the turbine which had multiple studs simular to the stocker. Now as far as only up-gradable kits after this I'm not to sure on, but I am sure HKS would not use the same turbo and kill response and power by using their log manifold with a divided turbine.
Result, its a Garrett T04E 57 trim compressor in a T04E (.6 A/R) compressor housing. You didn't measure the turbine wheel, but its either O or P trim, both are available in a divided .84 turbine. Could the turbo be from a HKS kit? YES, is the whole system an HKS kit? Highly doubtfull, but if its a P-trim, the turbo should be responseive even though its miss-match manifold and at 15 psi or make roughly 330 RWHP give or take 20 or so on a stock or street port 13b.

PS, im a little buzzed right now, forgive me if I've made a misstake (hehe) I'll corect in the morning :P

Any one know any more about how much shaft play there should be?I am debating on rather to rebuild (if i can find a kit)it or not since i have it all torn apart any way!

POS rusted all to hell center housing cracked after grounding down 3 boxed end wrenches down to get the bolts lose then when i was backing them off trying to lift the hot side housing off with the bolts to keep it centered snap )(*&(*^&^%&^$$%^ !!HUmmm wounder if i can use a stock s5T2 center?Any way thanks for all the help
I have 2 of this kits myself.
