With this ebay stuff that's for sale...i've read just as much good, as I have bad. It seems to be really hit and miss. Maybe he's one of the lucky ones. Time will tell.
Its not about being rich or not... its the fact that they get mad someone bought a part that looks and works exactly like theirs but it costs 3 or 4 hundred less than the one they use.. I had the money to buy it directly from hks but for what?? because of the rumors being spread around??? I have used this for about 1 year, boostin hard and heating up the exhaust to the point where the turbine housing is almost see through...

.. well after a few reworkings of those '304 Stainless headers' from SSAC/OBX/megan .. i had the metal tested .. found out WHY they are breaking so easily, at least the one or two samples I had.. they may be 304L at some point inthier life but obviously the Chinese seem to think high carbon content in their steel is cool.. becuse it's full of carbon.. WAY too much for it to be certified or called stainless steel in north america. So to all those that TIG up a new flange or add some gussete to the header to strenghten it.. your weakening it by 100x after ANY welding work on ANY of the 'stainless' parts from these guys you will need to re temper the metal at that location .. easiest way to do it is an oxy torch and just watch the colour shift around it. best way is a proper oven.

THis is by far way too much work for a POS part.. The very argument about money how much some people have and other's don't . Is moot as the replacemtn value for the smacked turbo when the header or DP or turbo elbow fails is usually more then you can get a good garrett branded T series turbo for and have a mild steel/ceramic coated header made..

Thier is a difference between spending cheap AND stupid and spending cheap AND smart.. usually the latter takes more time and effort and ends up being a bit more money.. but then your not also worried about when the setup is going to detonate.. This is where the heart of the argument lies.. people buying cheap & stupid and others defending it with the excuse that the people with money are upset or don't have a clue about peole with no money.. dumb *** excuse but adds to the ' cheap & stupid' POV about the person and thier setup.

Personally I don't really care what this guy does with his car but it's almost a civic duty to point out the holes and errors in his choices and argument..

Listen up guy, I dont use their turbo, but I do use their manifold... I never said that their manifold will hold up or compare to a real SS manifold produced here... But guess what, they are also about $400 less than the cheapest fabricator quoted me. Maybe when my manifold actually comes up with a problem, then Ill consider buying it from this guy... but so far, no reworkings, no leaks, no problems.

So I dont know wtf, you are talking about cheap and stupid and the rest of **** you wrote in your thread... Atleast you provided some facts.

Now, I guarantee you that if I go up to someone with the real hks WG in person, and be like," hey I paid 1/5 of what you spent on your ****". He is gunna start giving excuses like, yea well you know that **** wont last and atleast I got the "real deal".

Anyways, I have had my manifold for about a year... Boosting nasty, red hot always, and im talking about mad mad heat... No damage yet, no probs... Im pretty sure that itll outlast my motor... BTW I am talking about the FC man. cus I seen some FD ones and they are nowhere near the same quality as the FC..

the 1 bar sensor is required for the NA, because at wide open throttle it sees a maximum of one atmospheric pressure (14.7 lbs/inch squared, or 1 bar)

the turbo on the other hand needs a higher rated snesor becuase it will see the same 1 bar + whatever your turbine crams in above that so 1 bar at sea level plus say .8 bar of boost on top of that means you will need a sensor that reads at least 2 bar

does that help?

update? did it kaboom yet?

also, for 1500 dollars, I got a turbo 2 front clip, driveshaft and rear subframe. the same price you spent, so dont be so quick to hype the ebay special.

Well considering the fact that I can get TII engines with tranny for 800. and a subframe from 100-200 I say you got jipped. Lets just put it this way, whoever sold it to you made atleast $700 off of you.

He said front clip not engine and tranny....BIG difference. He got a lot more than a engine and tranny with an entire front clip

engine and tranny is WAY different from a front clip. i bet after i sell everything off of the front clip that i dont need it will be cheaper than 800 bucks, easy. this engine is going into an N/A FC so its the easiest/cheapest way to get everything i need. Also, good luck finding a complete turbo2 subframe for 200. I've been trying for months and every one ive found has been 350 plus, most are more like 450.

edit: just read the post right above mine, didnt realize he basically said the same thing, oh well.

Actually thats how much I paid for the subframe, with the rotor and brakes still intact...I didnt notice the front clip part.. but what can you really sell off of the front clip after you use engine/tranny ecu and harness?

im not trying to knock you on anything, but you cant really compare aftermarket parts to an engine. My engine was 500 w/o tranny (s5) and the rebuild was about 1-2k. MY current turbo cost $100 more than my motor, and the turbo that I have in my room is about 2ice that. Sometimes a motor/tranny will be cheaper, in some cases alot cheaper, than your aftermarket parts...

I believe that ssautochrome as some good products, especially for the price... I really dont see any harm in it.. people are bringing out economics to talk **** about them. But its simple.. if there is the demand and you have the supply then you are making people happy and your are making yourself some good money. If their **** was really as bad as everyone out there is trying to make it, then there would actually be cases of people here, stating facts. Not hearsay or **** they say in a stupid webpage..
