All you ebay haters!

OK, so i know there are alot of haters on here that dispise the XS-Power/Stone Racing/SS Autochrome products sold on ebay. Well i am proof that infact they do work perfectly fine. As of 2:00am my 1986 13B N/A is officially boosted. The whole kit was purchased off of ebay and totalled about 1500$. I will post pics of my setup very soon.
Heres what i have for parts:
XS-Power 60-1 T4 Turbo (1.15ar hotside, .60ar coldside)
HKS look a like manifold
HKS look a like 50mm wastegate with dump tube (boosting at 3psi)
XS-Power blow off valve
1st gen DSM side mount(front mounted)
S-AFC II
a-f gauge, boost gauge
-as of right now the boost comes on around 2800 hits full boost by 3800 and stays on till 7000.

Fuel mods to come include:
larger injectors
bigger fuel pump
manual boost controller

Let me know what you guys think then when i post the pics

ok WOW where to start

How are you only boosting 3psi? I wasnt aware or a spring that opens at 3psi. You must haev a boost leak. You are running a 60-1 on a stock NA ecu? WITH NO FUEL MODS YET?

Okay, you're telling me you're doing this on the stock *NON-TURBO* ECU + stock NON-TURBO fuel injectors + stock NON-TURBO fuel pump???

Is that motor of yours still in one piece? You better do some fuel mods asap.

i don't think it's the fact that his items don't WORK, but more the fact that they don't LAST. personally i've spend quite a bit of money on my turbo components, but i have the peace of mind that my wastegate isn't going to stick shut and pop my motor. other people may feel differently about this, but that's my 2 cents.
post up some pics, i'd like to see your car.

P.S. i turbo'd my old 88 gtu and only spent $1000ish including a microtech ltx-8. check it out, you might get some ideas.

Yeah they do have a 3psi spring I actually have one on my 46mm Tial Wastegate but I also have a Innovative MSBC-1 boost controller to control pressures. I believe on his mods he has a SAFC- II. Congrats for now but give us an update when you have say few thousand miles on this setup and tell us about reliability.

Glad to see that it's up and running for pretty cheap, but you REALLY have to get your fuel and ECU done ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just because you buy a $170 SS manifold, doesnt mean its ****. Compare it to the log manifold made out of cast iron. Atleast this has looks and functionality. I gues you gotta go find me the guy who blew his motor cus the wastegate got stuck open. Cus I dont remember that experience being written anywhere. Its mostly people making stupid assumptions, because it doesnt have hks stamped into it. I use the wastegate and it works beautiful. So whats the problem ?

Well here's a pic of their quality manifold.....

And how about their turbos?

I'm sure they use nice and expensive glue to glue those compressor covers together. And I'm sure the 8 year old's they hire to do their welding, remember to turn on the argon most of the time...... Like need-a-t2 said, it may work, but for how long? And just because it's working, doesnt mean it's working efficiently.....

And for the record, I do believe there is someone out there making .2bar (3psi) springs for WG's.

Well I agree. That manifold looked like ****. But have you seen the fc manifold? Doesnt look like the fd manifold at all. The flanges are really thick, the welds penetrate and the metal is of pretty good quality. Dynamic turbo, speedshop, and tuner all said it looks like a quality piece. And they inspected it before I put it in the car.

Well, thats something I did notice about OBX/SSAutoChrome/XS Power. Their product is usually an extreme hit or miss. I've seen some of the product that looks nice, and some that was truely unexceptable. Thats why I'm not a big fan of the company. Anyone that glues a turbocharger together, isnt going to get my business.....

those welds on the eclipse manifold looks nothing like hte ones i got on my FD manifold from ssauto chrome. The ones on my manifold were almost perfect looking little coins weleded one ontop of the other. Not like that JB weld janky looking **** on that DSM.

yeah your right poweraxle, well, i will def. have pics up tom. So far it runs fairly good, i def. need a new exhaust though, and i def. need 3", the stock exhaust is way to small to even allow the turbo to start spooling until about 4k rpm. The only other problem i am having is i have been finding alot of boost looks on the engine, mostly in the vacuum lines.
