Well the 7 goes to KD tomorrow for the single turbo install. I am very excited about getting it all done. Its been months in the planning and a long list of Parts showing up everyday up to now. Here is what I am doing. Feel free to add any suggestions. The car is modded now but adding the single turbo and additional parts. Listing everything I have thats already on and what I have going on this week at KDR. Goin to run 15-16 psi max until I get a ported motor and some other upgrades.

only thing i would do is get a racing beat six puck sprung disk for your act pressure plate. you will annhilate that street/strip disk very fast with a gt35/40 @ 1kg/cm^2
everything else looks damn good. maybe another fuel pump in line

i have a six puck racing beat in mine. the engagement is instant. once you get used to it. its not bad at all. i have been beating the crap out of mine and its never slipped once. even starting in 2nd gear because i broke first gear. the clutch doesn't slip

I am getting my T78 and new BNR Race ported motor installed this month as well. I know Vosko runs the T78. My clutch is the Spec Stage 3 sprung 4 puck clutch from BNR and Racing Beat Steel flywheel. Do you think it will hold up to very much boost. It did fine with my twins but I am unsure about the T78 setup. I was going to go GT35/40 as well, I love Kyle's car but I like the price and power of the T78 more. What do you think? My car is apart right now so I could easily change it if I wanted to.

ive had the T78 twice and i can say the GT35/40 is a better overall pick for my street/strip driving.. The GT35/40 spools much faster than the T78 while still giving me great boost gains up high.. dollar for dollar i think the GT35/40 is much better than the mitsubishi T78... ok lets take Jason's prices (which are pretty competive and not near retail)
Greddy T78
$3399
Mitsubishi T78
-does not fit perfect needs j-spec manifold or dent your downpipe.
-wastegate is routed to atmosphere
-mild steel downpipe
Garrett 35/40
$3900
Garrett 35/40
-will fit perfect on U.S. RX7's.
-wastegate is rerouted with a flex-pipe to downpipe
-downpipe is stainless steel
-the compressor housing is polished
-the downpipe is jet-coated
-most of all the GT35/40 is a true dual ball-bearing design giving fast response
-water cooled bearings for increase cooling
-plus customer support through RX7-store/a-spec is much better than calling greddy (installation questions, missing parts,damage,etc..)
so for $500 more for the GT35/40 you get the all the differences listed above
remember im using RX7 store pricing...normal retail on the Greddy T-78 is $4500..so at Retail level the GT35/40 blows the T-78 price wise
considering the GT35/40 is a fairly new kit for the RX7 and not many people have it compared to the Greddy/HKS/Blitz/Apexi ... im impressed to see many people already putting down over 400rwhp while having great spool-up. overall i think the GT35/40 is the best overall turbo kit per dollar
either way both turbo kits work well on RX7's.. im just happy to see more single turbo RX7's on the street every day!

GT35/40 is what I run, you can take that T78 lagmaster all the way home.

Lagmaster That's great! But I think there is only one king of lag on a stock ported motor.
HKS T51 KIA Kit
Short oversized manifold, undivided turbine housing. It sure looks pretty though

The $3900 US is for a kit. Includes turbo, manifold, wastegate, downpipe (ceramic coated and gate plumbed into downpipe), and all fittings/lines. Pretty sure it comes with an air filter as well?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
RX-TION...that really pisses me off. I bought my GT3540 last January for $3k AUD, which at the time was about $1800 USD!!!
Damn that sucks...

I also use the Spec 4 puck clutch and it holds up well. Good clutch for the street.

About the T78: After driving and tuning Rmagic's and Jason's car...properly tuned and on a properly prepared motor these turbos ROCK. But that is true for any turbo/motor combination. The engine is the foundation, and the turbo builds on that. Kyle's car is A BEAST! Time for a new license plate, Nocab!
To see T78s and GT35/40 Rx-7s running rampant on the outerbelts here is an amazing sight.
