I was supposed to be banned for a week. Its been over three. I got sick of beining banned so I "unbanned" myself. I'm not a big fan of the T-78. For ultimate power, it might have a slight advantage, but the design is old, its very laggy, and doesn't work well on the street. Every time I race Vosko I get a carlength on him instantly and he never catches up. Everyone has their opinion on turbos. I am very happy with mine. I plan to do a 20 psi, maybe more dyno run on Friday. I'll post results then. For some entertainment, check out my Diablo kill in the kills section

btw, you shouldn't need ignition untill over 20 psi. If you have ignition breakup then your problem lies elsewhere. Run 10.5's leading and trailing. I had a centerforce dual friction. Had about 30k miles on it, and slipped when I went single turbo. Everyone I know with a street/strip clutch has slipped it soon after going single. A street/strip disk with an extreme pressure plate might work though.

having both the T78 and the GT35/40.. the Gt35/40 is a better all around turbo than the T78

I would like to thank Poweraxel for giving me great customer support and doing his best to do right by me. Even with a short delay on some shipping he stayed in constant touch with me and always gave me honest information about my order. Steve it was a pleasure doing business with A-Spec Tuning. Your an asset to your company. Most guys I have delt with would rather avoid me when something goes wrong or when ordered parts have not arrived when expected. I spent several thousand dollars at A-Spec Tuning and would do it all over again.

the GT35/40 is better for a street car but i firmly believe the T78 is better for a drag car

Well the car is finally on the Dyno, The initial runs have been awesome and after fixing a leaky oil line it will be back to tuning tomorrow. So far it has put down 319hp at 10psi and 340 at 12 psi (to the wheels). I'm going to have 4 boost settings, will dyno 15 and 17 psi tomorrow. I will post the dyno sheet when i get a chance. The boost comes on SO FAST! We have seen 18psi by 4500 rpm. Its making alot of boost very quickly. The engine is very strong and is pulling 18inches of vacuum. Should be interesting to see what it will put out at higher boost levels. Will update soon.

Engine blew on the dyno, ouch, Rear rotor let go, no compression on the rear rotor. Not sure what happened, AR's were 11.2 to 1 (rich). Motor only had 18k on it. Oh well, set back for now. Was only pushin 13psi when it blew. Maybe it was carbon build-up. will find out this week when its taken apart.

ZoomZoom - I would like to analyse your maps, PM me and I'll send you my email address. Also, any logs that you might have taken while you were on the dyno would be a major bonus!!!

Dave at KFR has all that info. He used a map he had for a couple of gt3540 installs. Its started to break up and he was at 13 psi. he had my stock plugs in there and we are using the HKS twin power. The turbo is fine, not even any pieces of apex seal in the downpipe. Not sure yet what happened.

I'm sure it was Dave's "standard" GT35/40 map. He sent me a copy and Ihor sent me a copy of his too.

That thing is an engine popper, and looked suspiciously like the map Tony (Badog) posted with the multiple negative split cells...(I had given a copy to him to review because I couldn't believe there were actual maps being circulated that I felt were so dangerous)

Thats not very reassuring. Dave will let me know what he finds on tuesday. I am sure we will come to some kind of agreement. Dave has a good reputation I trust him to handle it right if it turns out to be a problem with the tune. I don't drive the car much in the winter. So the down time isnt a big deal. It will be good to start fresh with a new motor, even though mine only had 18k on it. The compression was good on both rotors before we started, 90psi on both. It was making good power but then the rear rotor let go. Thank God it didnt blow metal into the Turbo.

are you SURE the turbo is ok ? did they remove the turbo.... if you blow a seal it goes right through the exhaust side.....

i saw what tony posted that is scary. that is probably why ihor has lost two engines

ZoomZoom, is your motor ported? if it is, then Dave probably based your map on Ihor's. if it isnt ported, then he may have based the map on mine. im going to analyze my maps this week to look at the timing. last time i was at kdr, he dynoed my car at 14lbs. made 370rwhp with wastegate probs. i was using ngk race plugs without any other ignition upgrades.

Toy - if you have access to a datalogit, you may want to check your map for negative split!!

40oz, let me know if you need any datalogit help, I can walk you through the process of pulling your map off and looking @ the split...

toy you should make a drive to ohio to have nocab or badog check your maps...... cheaper than a new engine and turbo!
