Question 850 Primaries........Idle good or bad?

I've done a couple of search's and found some info but in all of the threads I read nobody seems to know for sure. I need to know if using 850 (stock or rp) injectories as primaries, will I have problems idleing. Some have said that the factory secondaries work but rp 850's don't. Thanx for the input.

i guess it will all depend on what is controlling your fuel, what engine management, and what kind of fuel system. If the system is able to lean it out enough then you should not have a problem.

Its an Fd, streetported engine. Greddy T-78 kit(15-25Lbs), Greddy front mount, Big bore throttle body, ported intake manifold and plenum. Greddy power pulley kit and full exhaust, Haltech e6k engine management, profec b boost controller, koyo rad, turbo II oil cooler, 50 shot nitrous kit (for spoolup, racing only), right now I have a twin turbo supra fuel pump but I will be getting a bigger pump soon. Also using an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. Keep in mind my car is not running and some of the stuff I mensioned is just sitting in the garage and not in my car yet. I was wanting to use 1600 secondaries and 850 primaries.....but I just dont want it to idle like crap. Thanx

Why not keep the primaries stock and ditch the secondaries for the bosch 1600 cc and upgraded fuel rail? With that monster setup and a Haltech that would be the route I would go. Then you won't have to worry about your idle.

You should not use the stock 850's in the primary holes because they do not seat right. They will leak.

Hey ApexRx7, are the ones you used the factory 850's or aftermarket ones. Also, is Velcro right? Will the factory ones leak? Worse case scenario..I will just buy aftermarket 850's but if the factory ones work It'll save me a couple hundred bucks. Thanx Guys

I've been using 850cc primaries and 1600cc secondaries for quite some time now with no issues. I am using the Haltech E6K and my car idles (when I have an engine in the car) at 800rpms, rock steady. (using the BAC valve)

I also used the 850's in the primary slot using new 550 o-rings. Initially, it wouldn't idle and low-speed drivability was horrible. It was all in the computer however, as I took out fuel and it idled/drove perfectly. I was sort of Wade's test subject and he took the plunge shortly after I did. I had no problems with fuel leakage around the 0-rings whatsoever. Switched to 1300's for slightly more fuel flow.
