I believe the "stock" housing on the FD T78 kit is the 17cm one...It'd be nice if GReddy used normal terminology to size their turbine housings...even HKS uses standard terminology in this regard.
IMHO, if you went with the smaller housing, you'd kill the top end hp the T78 is known for. Are you thinking of purchasing the turbo alone? There are better, more efficient offerings out there to be honest...I just acquired a GT40R to replace my T78. Should be here in two weeks or so. After I get it on, I'll be selling the T78 after sending it out for a full rebuild/check. It's already been fitted with the GT40R's 88mm compressor wheel. Better spool and even more top end power than the T78. Jason (RX7 forum/store) made over 460rwhp on pump and 506rwhp on 100 octane using the same turbo.
If you're dead set on a T78, go with what's provided with the FD kit. "Hopefully" GReddy has done their research (I'm sure they have) so I wouldn't second guess them.

Zilla, Are you sure it's a 24? Did you order it seperate from the turbo or are you using a non-FD specific T78? Any chance you'll be at the MRCCFL GoldCoast BBQ being held at SpeedSource? (They're campaigning the RX8 in the Speedvision World Challenge).
Anyway...Yes I have a pic of my housing somewhere. I'll find it when I get off work later this evening and post it for you.

That's not correct. It was a GT40R 88mm compressor squeezed into the compressor cover of a T78. Same turbo I have. Performed by Majestic Turbo in Waco, TX. I tried to post pics but can't seem to get them up. Judging by Zilla's pic, mine looks to be the same but who knows...there could be in reality, a very small size difference between the two or the differences could be internal.
