Dynoed and drag raced..first time on both

Well yestereday i went down to KD rotary for a dyno tune then went to Englishtown raceway. My car has intake, dp, resonated mp, RB dual tip cb, and the power fc. At 10psi i was making a consistent 275rwhp. After three runs we uped the boost to close to ~12psi (.80 cm2) and we generated 296.5 rwhp. I must say i am pretty happy with those numbers. However my drag racing i wasn't too happy with. Keep in mind that this was my first ever time at the drags.(take a look at those 60' times):

1st run
r/t 1.108
60' 2.614
330 6.357
1/8 9.239
mph 87.62
1000 11.680
13.739
mph 109.72

The next run was definatly an improvement but still not getting off the line like i should be (i was definately alot calmer)

2nd run
r/t .789
60' 2.365
330 5.981
1/8 8.851
mph 87.49
1000 11.290
1/4 13.338
mph 110.33

I was thinking that a trap of 110 mph is indictivive of a 12.xx run for an rx-7. If i lower my 60' times will i be there. My first run i launched at 4000rpm and i didnt move of the line after about 20' i had to shift to second to get traction. The second run was not a smooth launch either. i was racing some vtec integra. this time i launched at about 3250 rpm i still got spinage and wheel hop though...alot....rather than shifting to second to get traction i let off the gas for a sec then hammered it again. Its funny my fiance videotaped the race and you could hear me let off the gas as my blow off valve sounds. I think i need to try dropping the clutch at 3000rpms and rather than mashing the pedal simply ease into the gas a bit. the wheel hop and spin is killing me.
what do you guys think?

what kind of rims and tires are you using? I would think that with that kind of RWHP you really should be in the 12's. If you are still running stock rims I would suggest upgrading. You will need it eventually, especially if you keep modding your engine.

Did you race at 10psi or 12psi? Are you running on the stock clutch?

stock wheels are light ..
its not crap imho... if you want to maintain street tires - may i suggest a good set of tires with a slightly wider patch of 245/45/16
