should spool really quick with the higher compression and small a/r. but after researching and info from some knowlegable people you need at least a 1.00 a/r to keep egt's down, which keeps thing from exploding. just watch your egt's.

Nice set-up. I doing something similar for my 1st gen. The 9.7 rotors should really improve throttle response off boost, making the single even less laggy. I look forward to your results. If possible could you please display a full rpm range dyno chart? I would love to see the torque below 3k.

I had talked to the turbo guy and he said there is not much of a difference in size between the T3 1.06 and the T4 .82 had I gone with a t3 .82 I would have heat issues. So far so good great gas mileage and seeing boost around 2500 I am running cheap *** Cali gas. I am not going to be boosting over 14PSI.

This depends on the T4 being run. Some of the T4 .8X housings are not T4 A/r's only T4 footprints.

Just to clarify....Do the T4 housings on the turbos you sell all have T4 A/Rs?

well, i still think it should be bigger, but as long you stick to your guns on not trying to boost high, then i guess it should be okay. this makes your wastegate configuration even more crucial. what kind of wastegate setup are you running? EGT gauge?

Yes, they are all T4 A/r's(volutes) divided .84, 1.0, 1.06, 1.15

On a road race car with 116 octane gas that sounds like fun, but why limit yourself to 14psi boost?

That is far below the boost the GT series is designed to be efficient at; you may be better off with a 60-1 that was designed for max efficienty at high flow at low boost levels (~14psi).

For a street car on 91 octane it would be much better to do 8.5 to 1 rotors and ~20psi boost on the GT to be closer to its efficiency range and about as safe as 9.7 to 1 at 14psi boost.

Most of the throttle response loss compared to an NA is due to the turbo compressor restricting the flow on tip in- test this by popping your IC pipe off your throttle body to feel how responsive it is.

Added Compression will help response a bit, but the trade off in reliability or power is unfavorable...

Well I been driving it around found out right away that you need to plum your wastegate to your exhaust way to lound. Other then that great throttle reponse and it has incredible pull my boost is limited to 10psi at the moment with a base tune. I feel at the monent it really works everything I imagined it to be and more I am running a M2 SMIC and 2.75 piping and I just changed to a Apexi N1 duals from a RB TP with a magnaflow mid pipe. So its time to get the EGT and tune it.

Mods:

tial 44mm
short manifold
M2 SMIC
