I'm 100% certain that's the correct trigger type. Wire the sensor as FFE says and choose falling edge. I didn't go through everything else. The only other thing that would be an issue would be trigger voltage threshold. You'll need a scope or some good info from FFE to set that.
Was stuffing about about did a number of changes. I increased the gap in the sensor. I put on the new software and the new firmware. I changed all the setting back to Generic no him - falling - Ground ticked (what we assumed should have worked all along)
And it started working. No errors looked great.
wired up pin A13 accessories (E8 never needed it previous) and did a test for spark
Got spark yay so ran out of time and then had another crack tonight.
Fail. Getting "Stability errors" on the lappy.
Then when it loads it doesnt find any DBW settings. Or MAP.
I just got one of these going last week with a 36-1 wheel. So, again, I'm certain there is not an issue with the Haltech reading that wheel. The car I worked on had had a no start issue for several months of the owner and two different shops trying to get it started. The root cause appears to be an engine assembly issue that pushed the pulley hub out from the front cover about .100" more than it should be. The air gap on the sensor was .130". We shimmed it with washers to bring it in to about .050" and it immediately fired up with no errors. With a VR sensor, you should see .030-.040".
The FFE wheel has a timing mark at 0° BTDC. So set your leading at trailing lock value at 0°. Adjust the offset value until the mark and tab on the cover align. The 36-1 wheel should have an offset value real close to 90°. The Renesis wheel should have a value of right around 280°.
I owe you a beer, you need to come to Australia so I can buy you one
Software is playing up... It stability dies when it loads the map from the 1500. I reinstalled the software and same issue. So I cant see
DBW, no Calibration tabs, doesnt read TPS and Im sure its missing some other inputs.
But I locked the timing -5Leading and 15 Trailing and Im getting a trigger offset around 65
So, put the fuel back on and with a few cracks she started up! Very Happy, thank you..
Was Very rich! but that Q button for auto tune is f#cking awsome. Still a bit rough but the tune needs work.
The Crank sensor is still shimmed - Ill remove that and see what happens.
It will also just stall if I remove a bit opf throttle, Im hoping the DBW will fix that in time, but as I cant see it at all on the software I cant modify the settings...
But sucess for now (attached images - you can see I have no pully marks on my FFE wheel - just using the original 13bre timing marks relocated to my gilmer.)
So got more progress done.
Mounted up the fuel flex but not wired in yet.
Got my Gilmer all done so it wont clash with the FFE setup.
Got the fast reacting FD air temp installed.
Still waiting on the knock sensor and stud from oneone from this forum...
reduced Gilmer width to suit the FFE trigger setup
Engine bay back to operational.<br/>Fast reacting Air temp now installed
Now I dont have a trail shaft yet so cant go for a drive but got some very simple tuning questions.
On start I have to be 100% WOT for a few seconds, then let it drop back to 10% throttle and it will start, once running its fine. I'm assuming this is because its under fuelled when trying to start.
Whats the right way to correct this? I'm assuming the fuel base map stays as it is?. Then modify the post start fuel correction map till it starts?
And in regards to long term fuel trim, just so I can rev the engine in fuel cells and it can do its auto adjust, it currently reads all 0's as its doesn't meet the criteria to activate yet. If I turn down the air temp threshold will this start the auto tune or do I need other setting to make it mor aggresive. I can then role it all back later. (just backfires and the like if I try to rev it)
And no Im not going to tune it Just having a play.
well turning the temp range has been helpfull for just playing.
One question, on the long term trim, my idle has setting it wants to apply but when I got to idle control it doesnt give me the option to apply the values. Is there a trick Im not aware of? will post some pictures later.
EDIT: or is it because I have closed loop on the idle control?
Other
Reverse lockout on the T56 - Done
Electric power steering speed input - done (need to calibrate)
All 8 Defi gauges - done previously
Electric water pump - new setup all done.
So not long till I get it off the jacks and can start playing with the tuning.
Now for some questions:
Knock
So I now have knock and Ive not had it before. Its working I picked up a few pings.
1: whats a high Db?
2: do I need to set the filters and the like?
Starting
I still need to crank it for 3-5 seconds wide open throttle. Then stop. Then restart with no throttle and starts right up.
Im guessing this is the priming map. Ive upped this from 400 (at current temp) to 600 and now 1000 and still not starting off the key. Im guessing I keep playing? I see that 10000 is the max.
Any tips?
LLT
yeah haltech has an issue - will wait for the new updates.
Fuel Flex
The default % on the fuel flex is 2% (no E85 added at all - just pump) is that ok, or should be be ready 0% Im guessing 2% is sweet FA in the bigger scheme of things anyway
