Aspec Tuning still in business?

Is Aspec Tuning still in business?

I've contacted me for about a week through phone, email and voice messages.

No call backs or email responses what-so-ever.

Even if they are still in business can you stand to wait 6 months for your order once you get someone? Check out the A-Spec vendor section. It sounds like Sean has some other things going on right now. A-Spec makes some nice stuff but you'll have to wait for it.

Sean is difficult to get a hold of, but he pulls through on his promises. He sourced me a harder-to-find turbo at the time no problem, and even honoured a price he shouldn't have after finding out it had changed from the supplier. A+ in my books

Aspec is awesome. Couldnt have done my build without the turbo they sourced me. Communication was pretty good too.

Yes, I will say I do have some pretty serious issues going on right now that honestly I wouldn't wish on anyone. (and I'm sure some of the vultures on here are loving it) Yes some people are waiting long, some because of me trying to do the right thing and wait for better product. Some because product simply isn't available ie TiAL housings for 42R's, When you're out you're out on those, until TiAL makes more. Every shop on here has issues and some are dishonest with the way they portray they are golden while claiming others are not. Dealing with with trying to keep someone alive and trying to keep this place functioning is definitely not helping at this time and there are days I put serious thought into closing. Half the reason I'm not posting on here much anymore is I simply do not have the time. All that said some people are stuck waiting others are not, not everyone is waiting months as some would like to portray.

I've owned my 500R-SP kit for 3 years I think? Only used the turbo for 2 of those years and then went to the 6765 using the same manifold.

I abuse the hell out of my car at the track with 1750-1850*F EGT's pre-turbo for hours on end. For the first year, I also ran a turbo blanket and wrapped the downpipe (I got rid of them after that first year). This abusive heat led to warping, cracking, and flaking of the manifold, turbine housing, and downpipe which had to be constantly repaired. Basically, by the end of last year my manifold was in terrible shape. I also wanted to sell my turbo setup to a good friend of mine who I was rebuilding his engine as the first engine I ever rebuilt.

I shipped the manifold to Sean who was fully aware of what I have been doing with my car and why I never sent the manifold before when it first started giving problems. Sean decided the manifold was no longer repairable and made me a completely NEW manifold honoring his lifetime warranty despite the above mentioned. Yes, I did have to wait a few months for it but it did eventually come as promised. So big thanks to Sean at A-Spec for delivering on his warranty.

We just got the car started early this week and my first engine ever ported and rebuilt seems to be running so far (lol). The abused 500R is still running fine with just a new turbine housing. The thread is over here if anyone is interested...

Sean, as you know I am one of those who is stuck waiting for a long time but I have been quiet patient and cooperative during this period, because first of all I think you're an honest guy going through a hard time and secondly you have nice kits and reputation in this forum/community which I am also part of. However, it cannot be one-sided and open-ended with no deadline.

I have tried sending an email to 3 different addresses of yours in the last few days but they all bounced back. Then I checked your website but it doesn't work (address/server cannot be found). Then I left a message on your answering machine but I don't know if you'll receive it on time or respond to it on time cause I also called an hour ago but no answer.

So I decided to post in here because as you know there is a deadline for me and this time I do not want to miss it! I expect your utmost attention to finalize this transaction!

Feel free to pm/email/call me or reply to this post asap.

Please don't make a comment with generic statements just for the sake of it. No one in this thread is flaming A-Spec / Sean, if anything he got compliments so far. And I'm one patient customer trying to get in touch with Sean asap.

I don't need to run a small business to understand the difficulties (which I believe are not relevant in my case) and Sean doesn't need to buy a turbo kit to understand the customer's side of things.

if youre strapped for time... look for additional resources to assist you get over this hump...
most shops hesitate as it affects their bottomline... but dont realize that its essential for their growth or even just maintenance...

Sean has had my car at his shop for a long time now. We've had a few conversations, I've visited to see the progress, and he's demonstrated that he knows what he's doing and that he's having trouble getting parts. I don't know why it takes as long as it does for his vendors to supply him with parts or for him to figure out that vendors that don't supply parts are not vendors at all.

However, I'm willing to wait. I sincerely hope that he will do his best work on his most patient customers... and since good work takes time, planning, preparation, and in my case... a change of turbo mid-build.... I am willing to wait for what he thinks is best. I didn't think that it would take this long, but hey... I've owned this car for 12 years and it's been running for less than 2 of those years. I can wait if I have to.

Sean, after some of our conversations and some of the work I've seen and pictures I've seen... I trust you completely.. and I respect you and your fabrication skills. I don't care that it's taking a long time as long as it's done right.

But please, please, please communicate with your customers more. You haven't anything to loose by calling us all up and letting us know what's going on. We are trying to support you...

Guys, remember that life can throw us all curves from time to time.

Remember Sean is the guy that wrote this:

Hey everybody, i know this is an old thread, but I have ran out of options. Last heard from Sean in october, it now seems that the office phone is no longer in operation, and there seems to be no activity on the forums from Sean or his guys. I am freaking out, I am 3 years into this project and have alot of money in, feel like throwing up. Sean seems like a great guy, if anyone has any insight to help me out here I would appreciate it.

They are still in business. I am lucky enough to be local and stopped by the other weak to order a single turbo kit

As usual they are backed up and being a small operation, hard to get back to everyone in a timely fashion.

Next time your there tell him the Canadian needs his turbo. There's not even fabrication involved >_>. You try to support the rotary community but get ignored...
