I bought the Burnout kit from Ken in December 2006 but couldn´t put it on until now because of money problem. But now its going to be done and ready for the road before this summer.
This is how far I am right now:

got my kit and I must say this I dont like how the fender lines up to the head light and the front bumper. The fender is low on one side where it meets the headlight and its high on one corner on the other side of the fender and most of all the fender curls inward where you need to mount the front bumper onto the fender, you have to pull on it and stick a bolt into the two to keep it from curling back in. I thought it would line up like stock fender and front bumper. It just keeps curling inward. Then where the fender meets the bottom rocker, its been cut off too short has a big gap and If you dont run the side skirts like me than you'll end up seeing a big gap. When I get pics I will load them up so you guys can see what I am talking about. the tail light cover looks like its been cut too short at the ends of the tail light, you can still see the edges of the taillight still exposed. a little more messing around and I can make these fit like oem. But thought I would share my thoughts on the kit for other people who are interested in this kit and plan on doing the install them selfs. giving you a heads up. Just for the record I do auto body for a living so I know how what to do to get it to looking like it fits stock, with some mods to the parts. Dont know if I just got bad molds or what cause mine doesnt fit like kens rx7 with the silver fd with the front fender but I will keep you guys updated. its gonna take some time and refiberglassing to make these look and fit alot better.

here are updated pics of what I have done.

Here are pics of the fender that I had to customize to make it line up right. The tabs on the front of the fenders where too short and didnt make it to the wholes to bolt up so I had to fiberglass the part to make it longer so I can drill new holes so it will reach the oem bolt holes.
this I was not happy with. I dont know about anyone else's fenders but I got a crappy one here.

I like how you softened/rounded the front fender and skirt line. I think I am gonna go back and do that on mine.

Also, nice execution on the rear of the skirt with that horizontal line. That piece was kinda interesting/difficult to work with in my opinion. I opt'd to smooth that in because I did not go with the rear bumper of the kit.

Here's what I did for comparison

I will pass the compliments along to the body man..

Yeah, I can see what your saying about not having the rear bumper... I think you made the right choice and the car is looking good! I bet it took awhile to blend that in, great job!

You going back blue?

Yeah Ill be doing my rear just like yours. Im just running the front fenders and rear flares, and NO side skirts. I want the stock sides cause its has a stock sexy look in my opinion. So rear diffuser with tail light cover and rear flares and front flares with my border front bumper. so the car will still hold stock looks except the bumper and flare add ons. I will post pics up tomorrow of my work that I have done so far. the goal is to have my car all done and painted by next weekend. So i will have finish pics up soon.

Car was white... I am going with Magnetic Blue from the 2005 Lotus Elise.

Only thing done is engine bay and the door jams until motor is in.. then I'll spray the whole car when I'm done leaning over the car

Nice! Can't wait to see it all together in black.

Did you buy the rims for the kit or did you already have them?

What size are they?

I'm trying to find a rim I like to go with black...

Hey I had the rims already. I bought spacers to space them out. the rears are spaced out 25mm and the fronts are 15mm. This is just temporary until I find out what set of 3 peice rims I want to get. Yeah I finished the car today and put it together but I left my camera at work so I cant upload pics until tomorrow. Ill post pics here tomorrow. and thanks for the compliments. the car looks really nice in person.

what kind of rims and size are they? and what kind of tires? they look a LOT like my ADR M-classics with sumitomos

and I'm inspired by all these clean widebody FDs!

Thumbs up

Yep that's my buddies Black Fd he's been busting knuckels on for the past month doing the burnout rear flares and front fenders and bodywork. Like he said he just finished painting the car this morning and we put the rear diffuser on earlier tonight at my shop. All I got to say is his car is making me contemplating doing mine. It turned out really nice and the car looks very agressive and sexy in person. He's gonna do the final wetsand cut and buff tomorrow so you guys should see finished pics soon.

Have any of you actually considered this issue?
I don't know about the other RX7 widebodies on here, but my friend's black one (TouTurboRX7) he did do the widebody rears the correct way. He slit the stock rear quarter fenders and raised them up flush. Then he molded in the flares so now he can run wider rims/tires in the back.

Yes I did mine the correct was as my friend rx7na said. I cut slitts and rolled the out side quarter inward and rolled the inner wheel well outward and used selftapping screws to screw the inner and outter skins together, then I used our body 2 part foaming tube to fill in the cracks and gap and shaved the left over foam away. Then I used the 2 part panel bond to glue on the quarters. Im sure everyone ever has customized the rear quarter to help fit wider tires on the back they just didnt show the steps. I dont remeber if I took pics of my doing it but if i did I can post some pics for future rx7 owners to use my body work as a guide.

My car is fully done and buffed out. here are the finish product guys hope you enjoy.
