Like I mentioned early on...
Only the FIRST 15 will be able to acquire this hood at the unbeatable price of $400. So the guys "on the fence" got some quick thinkin to do.

I am in, and also on the sun roof (got the second spot on the list), I am ready to put down a deposit for both items
Just let me know
Count me in if hoods available by Sept.
I'd like to see the Panspeed pics, but knowing Shine quality, I'll risk it

I plan on using the hood on an N/A, so my question would be about the effectiveness of the Panspeed vent, based on it's location, If I was using the engine-driven fan still.
It seems like the Panspeed vent is too far forward. I would need a vent like pictured on the S2000 (which I understand many people don't need) or go to an e-fan setup.

Don't put another smaller vent on the other side just for symmetry. Theres not really anything on that side of the engine bay that needs a vent.
Since I do this all the time I'd like to point out that you accidentally a word there
Btw, SMOGSUX? YOU IN? As soon as Red Dragon on RCC is relayed the info of interested people he'd make 14, are you going for the final discount spot?

So is the hole on this hood http://www.forum.shineautoproject.co...?p=381#post381 the same as the hole that is pictured in the panspeed yellow hood? In this black car you can't even see the hole in the hood?
Anyhow chalk me up as interested. (Still would like to see pictures.) I am not sure how many people from canada will be shipping anything but it will probable be easier for me just to ship it straight to my house.
Shineauto if I order other parts will the shipping costs be the same or more?

There are definitely some issues I have with this hood, so we're probably going to have to approach this project a whole different way.
First off, there are fitment or aesthetic issues I have with the hood. It is unclear how bad the hood really fits because the latch is either wrong or mounted wrong ( mounted wrong is for sure) and cannot currently fit this hood the way I want. The latch is crooked. For an $1100 fiberglass hood, at least THAT part should be correct. Common now.
Here's a pic of an OEM latch just incase you guys forgot.

Pic of Panspeed latch

This is the best I can get the hood to fit with the crooked latch.

I can always remove the latch or adjust it, however, there are other issues that cannot be resolved by improving the latch alone.

One of the main issues with building a hood is getting the thickness of the hood to resemble OEM. The key is to get it to come close and a good manufacturer should have a good technique for joining hoods to achieve this. We got this part down. Apparantly, Panspeed's manufacturer along with Sexy Style's and Feed's do not.
The Panspeed hood is too thick compared to OEM. Thickness also varies dramatically.
Here's a pic of an oem hood's thickness.

Here are pics of Panspeed Hood's thickness.

This thickness is affecting fitment is certain areas. These are areas I feel have nothing to do with the way the hood is latching at the moment.

Gap could possibly be larger on one side than another. This is usually fixable as long as the hood has OEM dimensions or at least close to help balance and minimize the gaps. I will have to put the oem hood back on and make adjustments to the headlight, fenders, and bumper to ensure these parts are aligned correctly before I can judge. However, the other problems are not fixable.

For a track car, non of this really matters as functionality is #1 concern. However, if a clean look is desired for a street or show car, this hood will not do job or at least to my personal standards.
As a replica company, we critique this kind of stuff because we're suppose to be replicating off of it. Our hood will not magically be better unless we make the "plug" (the original Panspeed hood in this case) better. Replica parts are subject to more critique by nature, so I am weary about certain issues from experience.
