Take it easy, sport. I scoured the forum last fall to see if anyone else had made their own cover. I didn't find one. This was the only discussion, so I hopped in to trade ideas. The vendor-led discussion really hasn't gone anywhere in 3 months, so I thought I'd share my results. It wasn't that difficult to do, and I think it turned out OK...

First off I am easy, just telling someone hey man CALM DOWN, CALM DOWN MAN HEY CALM DOWN doesnt MAKE someone into someone thats irritated just because you say so, because I am not, no matter how many times you say it.

Secondly the question is since you seem to be harping, is: Why is this in THIS thread, this is Shines forum not ours to just crap on etc, it started as a suggestion that obviously those guys don't want to do or whatever, I myself don't want to get dragged to a vendor forum to see something I can't buy.

Although I would have loved to see your carbon rear cover in the show off pictures section then I could admire your work, instead of wondering how much.

As a by the way, how much to make me one ?

Wow, I really don't understand your first paragraph at all--it makes no sense, whatsoever...

I was part of this discussion earlier in this thread to share ideas on how make a hatch cover. I never said anything about Shine's work or project at all. Read over my response, albeit slower, if you need to. I only mentioned that nothing had been discussed in over 3 months, and I decided to share what I came up with. Maybe it will isnspire others to make their own. You've got yourself all worked up about something that wasn't even said or implied, and I really can't figure that out...

As for making one, mine has under $200 in parts and such. It is much simpler in form than some of the other examples in this forum, but it is my first attempt. My simpler design also helped keep the costs down (I was on a budget).

Sorry for any confusion or misunderstanding...

Huy Huy in summary:

A. I dont have myself worked up, that is your mistaken assumption, I am completely relaxed.
B. If I WAS worked up it would not be about something not said, your first words to me were Take it easy Sport, which is a condescending term used when you are trying to nicely insult someone or someones action which I dont mind honestly, I was simply trying to tell you I was taking it easy, I never wasnt easy.

C. and most importantly I was trying to ask you how much to MAKE me one I like your simple design!

Looks nice Vincent, how does it hold up when weight is on it?

Oh do you have the rear wiper, does it collide at all?

Man, that makes me think that a stock cargo cover that has a small sag in the middle could be reinforced with glass or CF to help it. Man I wish there was one that looked like stock in some sort of strong plastic.

It wasn't designed to hold weight, just hide stuff underneath.

I have a rear wiper (that sounds much worse than I thought!), and the cover clears the motor housing.

I'm working out a few issues yet. I could either go with thicker CF or with the CF bonded to aluminum. Problem with that (as I am finding out) is that they expand/contract at different rates...
