carbon fiber is a bit much for a cargo cover but it would be nice to have jus for looks. but don't mind having a fiberglass one either.
Didn't the s5 gxl have the TII covers? i mean i did have a cargo cover on my old s5

all i can say is that i tried to get stuff for ya guys but if nobody here wants to pay for nice things than thats there own thing, may seem kinda high for what the parts are but they are high quality parts. and make hella nice improvements on the interior

400 in glass is a little much, I think people are overthinking this. That picture above shows a BUNCH of bends dips and bs to make the original look "factory" that we would not need, this would be a single flat part.

no most are not understanding of the fact that besides the cargo cover you get the speaker cover pods as well all for the 400 ish price not just the cover so there is actually 3 parts to this that you need to install it, and if you parsay needed just the cover and not the pods ya im sure it would be cheaper, and it being flat concept may not work cause the edge probably rolls down and that would need to be be in there for the right settlement of the cover, the stuff in the middle could ya probably be eliminated but wouldnt look as nice. I see this stuff all the time down at the guys shop and all the grooves in the cover is what makes them a really beautiful piece to look at cause when the light meets the curves of the CF it shines like none other

Whats funny is I paid like $130ish at the dealer for mine brand new. Sigh. Havent even had it in the car for 4 years.
My bigest problem was tht the "mounts" that hooked it to the speaker covers would break. The back part of the screw mount would break off and the bracket and support rod would just fall off.

Ok so your saying the speaker covers, the rear cover in CF for 400 ? because THAT is a good deal but above in your other post you say 400 for a fiberglass only cover. and yeah you can buy them at the dealership for 180 which is why that is not a good price at 400 / fiberglass.

Guys, This was not just a TII option, other models had the rear cargo cover also.
And yes, if you plan to use a stock Mazda cover you have to have the rear speaker covers that allow the cover to pivot on.
Do I need to post pics on what it looks like?

and if so could we get that interest count up like the one guy started, ill see if i can get a positive price for sure but ya it was 400ish for the 3 pieces the reason i say (ish) is cause might be just some more but well see

I have re-read this 10 times and I see when the light meets the curves of the CF each time I read it ? and if you can get guys interested in a Fiberglass rear cover at 400 more power to you, i'll pass, and look for a better option. imo.

what about for just the cover, i have the speaker covers already, i just need the hatch cover. and couldnt you make it a lot cheaper by letting the people who need the right speaker covers too send them to you and have the mounting points glassed onto them instead of all new pieces, it would take less glass and should be cheaper.

just for the cover ya it would be cheaper than 400 for sure, im not for sure bout the glassing pieces to make them work cause than theres just to much variation in the pieces and then you would need to repaint anyway as in if he made the pieces they would be exact every time

It doesnt even have 4 mounts, the "sheet" or rear cover is basically a flat cover with some indentions for looks and there are two triangular plastic parts connected with two screws each to each side of the rear of the cargo area that the cover just sits on, in the front area there is basically a slightly larger than pencil sized round connector that connects into the speaker covers. Honestly its just a large flat part, you could/can make it out of glass/cf even plywood, I have seen a very nice one made of birch stained etc even, im sure Ken could build these in minutes but hes busy.
Ken thoughts on this one ?

Mine's done.
Out of Hibernation! Got a caught up on a few projects, and have a few more to complete this week (weather permitting).
Fab'd up a carbon fiber hatch/cargo cover today:
Replacing the clutch master cyl, slave, and hose (new braided stainless hose) this week after 22 years...
The rear calipers will get paint this week just to keep them looking spiffy.
Zoom Zoom...
