I'd be interested in CF doors also. I'm leary of Siebon since I hear good and bad.
I have the CF Shine diffuser and its a work of art. Absolutely top quality. I'd feel more confident in ordering anything from Shine vs. Siebon.

Currently, there is no CF sunroof made AFAIK. If poked at a couple of the CF vendors here, with no commitments as of yet. Whenever there's mention, there seems to be demand. If would be an opportunity to shave 10 lbs or so off of the very highest point on the car. I've got an extra skin sitting in my garage.
I'd warn against doors unless you've got a cage with door bars on it. You get hit w/ CF doors on the car, you're toast.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but if you don't recommend cf doors, is there a way to shave extra pounds on the stock doors by converting to roll-up windows on an FD? Are cf mirrors worth the weight savings?

The skin I have is about 12-15 lbs, and a CF one should weigh next to nothing... 2-3 lbs. Look to save about 10... but it's a good 10 being on top of the car. You could take out the rail and drill holes in it if you're really obsessed.
On the doors, no... the power windows were deemed lighter than crank-up, belive it or not.

i see everyone reem on carbon doors, but he was just asking about carbon door panels, and corvettes come with fiberglass doors, wich is acually weaker then carbon fiber, all the lambo and high end 500+ thousand doller cars use carbon bodys, carbon fiber is acually stronger then steel i believe from the research ive done, ive seen carbonfiber parts hit with a hammer and not even dent or crack, but steel dents and deformes under the same stress, and sorry for any spelling errors, lol ive been drinking

These companies have engineered the doors to be able to pass side-impact crash testing, meaning that there's some internal reinforments.
CF is stronger than steelin some respects, but it also shatters if stressed in the wrong direction. Think about the loads an F1 car's wishbone takes in the direction it's designed to, but ghow easily they disintegrade... along with most of the rest of the CF car.. upon any impact.
A little flex and give, for impact absorbtion, is a good thing.

Bumping thread.... So, as mentioned, I hear a mixed reviews about the Seibon carbon door fitment. Most people mentioned that it needs tweaking but don't mention WHAT they actually tweaked. I'd appreciate if owners of the carbon doors can chime in here. The reason I ask is because I was in an accident today where a lady making a uturn got hit, lost control and slammed into the right side of my car--hence, I need a new door. However, instead of getting a new OEM door, I figure, why not get two carbon doors! Any input on getting the doors fitted correctly would be appreciated. Also, I'm assuming that overall, the doors are high quality?

I would buy carbon fiber sunroof for the fd, right now and send a deposit before I saw a prototype (if the final price wasnt outrageous). This is a pretty basic piece, so Im convinced it wouldnt be a problem.
Is there any foreseeable future where this could be possible?

We had an interest list of 20-odd people (or whatever number we supposedly needed) a year ago on another CF sunroof thread that seems to have been deleted. We got the list together, and then it was basically denied in favor of other projects. I would suggest that everytime this comes up it's going to be harder to generate interest/commitments when nothing has happened as a result of it in the past.
Could we get an honest commitment to produce the part this time if effort is expended to generate a sufficient interest list? Not trying to be an ***, I appreciate the supply/demand dynamics... it's just that I'm happy to "knock on doors" for interest, but not for nothing again.

CF fiber doors
Just to add to not putting cbfiber doors on the car u know that stuff will kill you if you inhale it as well... but I'm still thinking about doing it or atleast my hood and hatch.... but yeah having give is important I dunno how people drive elsewhere but there are a tone of horrible drivers IN Houston where I currently am.... and Dallas TX too....

Wow. Now if someone would just do an FD sunroof. I've gone through 3-4 vendors to try to get this done, and no matter how much they say it's possible and they're into it, and no matter how many people I get on a list, eventually they quit returning my emails. I've even offered to shoulder all of the up front costs for the first one.
WOULD ANY BODY OUT THERE LIKE TO MAKE SOME MONEY?
