Would there be any interest in a tuning session in Huntsville?

id like to be there. . . but i really dont want as many people there as last time. . . i want to make sure i have money well spent on my car. . . i dont like getting my car tuned every 4 months or so. i think its a great idea, however, to move it too huntsville. i wanted steve to come to tennessee, but he likes to go to ATL so birmingham was his stop. . . i know i sound whiney, but im not really all for driving the distance to birmingham with and untuned car. . . AGAIN!!! i almost lost my job. . . and my life as well. hahaha. anyways, im all for it. . . i think its the BEST happy medium these two states have.

and yes. . . david garfinkles car will be done in the next few weeks. . . so the sooner the better. . . the both of us dont really care to see a tuning session two months from now. . . THATS THE END OF THE SUMMER!!!!

SO You guys want to shoot for what date? I would think the only logical date would be July 10th. Week before "July 4th" weekend, Week before that Steve thinks he is in NY, week before that I can not do it. So please start signing up if you are in, not maybe's. As soon as we hit 5-6 guys I will book it all. So again from my earlier post it will be no more than $70 per hour dyno time and $300 for Steve's tunning.

1. Me (sk8world-Mike)
2. rotorbrain
3. Garfinkle (?)
4. snapcaseacilec (?)
5. riofrio (?)
6. Rated R1
7. RotaryResurrection
8. Herblenny
9. Stephen
10. Brian

Ok, Here is a list of 10 possibe cars. I think there will actually be room for either a 2 day tunning session or 2 separate locations due to the amount of cars needing tunning. If 5 guys off this list commit to Huntsville on July 10th than I will call Steve and set everything else up... I can not push these dates up as I do not even have my parts Yet!!!!!!

Definitely put me down for one day or another, the sooner the better. You're talking about 2 seperate days of tuning due to the workload, so why not make a date for those of us who are already ready that is before the date for you guys who are still doing setup.

Regardless of when, I have to get tuned somewhere, and I can think of nothing closer or better. But yeah, it'll suck having another 1.5-2 months go by without having a streetable car.

i like kevins idea. . . also. . . there needs to be a limit to the amount of cars getting tuned. i know it sounds mean. . . but NOBODY will have the attention that is needed if there are a lot of cars. the last time steve was in alabama. . . it was hard on him. . . as well as everyone else. i think splitting up the days is a GREAT idea. cause. . . im pretty much ready, david garfinkles ready (almost), kevins ready, phils ready, and i believe "ratedr1" is ready too. . . sounds like a nice crowd to me.

I think 2 days is a good plan. I just do not think it will happen here in Huntsville until July 10th at the soonest. I will be pushing just to have my car ready by then... You will need to check with the B-ham guys (phil and stephen) about a earlier date. I will still try and round up 5-8 cars for the July 10th here.

Steve said he likes to have atleast 5 cars, so that should'nt be hard to get. I was just thinking more to cover incase someone backs out.

I do not think Phil is ready. I think he has to put in his new motor still.

Hey Fellas.

The Dyno day will prolly have to be in Bham since Steve will be staying at my house. If you guys want it in Huntsville, we can plan for 2 dyno days. One here and one in Huntsville.

He will have to touch up my FD and tune my t2 which will not take too long. Plus if he comes, I definately need to know the date b/c I know of about 5 that needs steves services that are ready.

All I got on my car though is intake downpipe midpipe and catback, with the PFC and commander. If this is alright for tuning let me know.

so does steve stay at your house when he goes elsewhere bryan???? all im saying is that. . . us tennessee guys have to drive A LONG WAY on untuned cars to see him. . . its almost like steve is crude oil and birmingham is the refinery. . . make sense? i dont see why everytime theres a try to get steve out "here" we end up going to birmingham. thats all. if hes willing to come out here. . . then im sure someone is willing to let him stay at their house. just my .02 though.

nieto. . . youre good man. . . all you need is some extra flow (which you have) and youre in great respects for some extra hp. you should be having some fun.

I'm not ready.. I should be getting my engine in Mid June.. but I have way too many out of town plans in June.. I wouldn't be able to do anything until Beginning of July..

So, I would like to do it end of July.. But will try to shoot for July 10th.. If thats when everyone wants to do it.

I could do a sooner date. I'm just waiting for my MP and I'll be ready. I am down for a trip to Nashville as well.

there is somthing else though, I have a TO4R garret turbo, manifold, wastegate, and block off plates. problem is I still need to order my FMIC, and injectors. I also ordered a radiator, but waiting until I get all my things in to swap to single, but one BIG Q, Does the PFC have to be reprogrammed before doing the single swap? If so would Mr. Kan be able to do that? Just curious

if you have a stock port and stock turbos. . . then you can get by with just cleaning up some areas on the maps. . . but its always a good idea to have steve tune it. itll run a lot better. sounds to me like you REALLY need to get on the ball!!!! hahaha. get your stuff ordered, on the way, and in the car. no point in doing the tuning twice. just get the car together the way its supposed to be and get the tuning done THEN.

I rather run the stock twins a little longer cause the way I'm looking at it, my swap won't be done for a year. I don't mind getting tuned twice for a diffrent setup and a plus your side is you'll have one more person for dynoing.

i spoke with him today. . . i have one question. . . does "the land of the BNR" own rights to steve kan tuning or something? im completely down for huntsville. . . dont really care for birmingham. . . too far. . . im trying to get something in tennessee. if we all decide that huntsville is the better deal. . . then ill do that. i definately think we need to get him out here twice. too many people tuning at once is a BAD idea. . . for the owners of the car. . . not necessarily for steve. hahahaha.

What is that supposed to mean? Steve is good friends with Bryan, and every time Steve has come to AL that I know of, he's stayed with Bryan. No need to be sarcastic, Paul.

If you guys want to organize everything, go for it. Steve will probably end up in Birmingham at some point anyway.

I sort of sense the whole "you TN guys come down here, or not at all" attitude too. I don't know about you guys in AL, but I personally don't like the thought of driving an untuned car several hundred miles spitting and sputtering, and getting 10mpg the whole way. So, anything that moves the event closer to our cars is better for us.

I guess someone needs to contact Steve directly and find out where and when he could do a session for those of us in TN seperate from the b-ham session. Perhaps nashville, chatanooga, or even still huntsville. IF he can't or won't do that, there isn't any use in us talking about it anymore, and we'll either have to find our way to wherever he goes, or do without.
