the only problem i have with the 7th is that id have to get someone to drive my car out there. . . unless steve was willing to wait for me. . . i get off at 1630. im not really wanting to LET someone take my car for a 3 hour drive. . . kinda scary if ya ask me. haha.

anyways, well, just have to figure this out.

You pay Steve $300 for the tuning, and you pay the dyno however much you owe them for usage of the dyno. So $300 + $65/hr, yes.

I would consider coming up there but I have to check with friend in Supra.. I liked the idea of tunning it here since my car will just be running and would hate to run into trouble. Soooo I still prefer here and the rates are good. But I am up for whatever we all agree on..

I also might have another 3rd gen for tunning if his pfc gets here in time.

we DO have 4 cars READY in tennessee!!!

i know you have better rates on the dyno out there. . . 60/hr is awesome. . . and if you car is running correctly. . . an hour is all it needs. i have a shop out here willing to do whatever for 100/hr. . . BRAND NEW dynojet rated up to 1800hp. theyre setting it in the ground today!!! that price includes use of their NEW datalogging wideband sensor. . . this is ALL NEW. . . so thats what i liked about it. they are super cool guys too. its a happy medium for everyone. . . i know its closer to me. . . but im kinda restrained by the schedule. the knoxville guys get a cut in mileage. . . especially, since ONE of them has a race THE NEXT DAY!!! we are all ready. . . we have 4 cars in tennessee alone and can pull more. . . even if we decided to pull like 10 or so cars. . . the shop said it would be cool as well as steve. . . wed do it in two days.

i REALLY think we should pull for nashville. . . its easier for the group as a whole, especially since some of these guys have been waiting for a while for the finalized date.

heres where it lays: i have setup with a local shop with a brand new dynojet dyno and brand new wideband sensor (sniffer style). they will do datalogged dyno runs for 100/hr. . . and they are FLEXIBLE ON THE HOURS. they told me that since i was bringing multiple cars. . . theyd cut the price down from 125/hr to 100/hr (which they did) and let me PICK when its gonna happen!!!

personally, i vote for nashville.

Make that three of the Knoxville guys -- Rated-R1, myself, and one of my friends, if I can convince him it's worth the $$$... there's two or three others I know of that may be interested here as well, but that's been second hand.

they will do datalogged dyno runs for 100/hr.
I dunno about data logging, but I think Speed Sport here in Knoxville is $65-75/hr. I'd imagine we could work a deal there as well, given enough cars.

personally, i vote for nashville.
And I vote for Knoxville....

(So does my wife....)

I'll go with the group wherever; I'm a late comer to this particular party...

im sure everyone wants it for their hometown. . . but your last comment solved that for all of us. . . haha. . . that was rude. sorry. . . ahaha, the deal im trying to get is a happy medium for huntsville as well. we already have the people for a tennessee setup. . . ive got a lot of the details worked out. steve is willing to come on both saturday and sunday if its needed. . . and so is the dyno shop.

the fact that I KNOW theyll do datalogged dyno runs is what i like. they knocked off 25 bones per hour for me. . . and 125 is the going rate out here for dynojet. i know this is a higer price for both locations (evidently), but its also a happy medium and ALL the info is out on the table this time.

GUYS IN TENNESSEE, we already have the numbers for steve to come. anymore is icing. . . by all means. . . get more people and make it well worth steves while to come out here. . . i think we owe it to him anyways for the last dyno date.

i think its obvious that this is gonna happen in nashville. . . and i think its better that it does. not for me, but for the group as a whole.

let everyone know guys. . . maybe i can get it cheaper if we have enough for TWO days. ill definately fight for that!!!

thanks,
paul

steve. . . im so sorry man. . . i talked to steve kan and he said no carbies. you are MORE than welcome to come out though. . . and stick it on the dyno to see what it WILL do. . . david garfinkle may be able to help you with some carb setups as well. . . we MAY be able to do something. . . regardless, itd be cool to see. . . and cool to see you there!!!

Can you elaborate on the datalogging? SSE is a DynoJet, and with their data sets I can zoom in on the curves, including the wideband. I can also save the dyno runs and look at them later. Is that what you mean?

Pay an extra $70 to save about an hour of drive time for me, round trip? I don't consider that happy..

If it's the only way I'm going to get tuned, then well, O.K. I'm already over budget for this last round of mods anyways. And it is an extra hour of sleep....

Say, rotorbrain, you available next summer to talk me into going single turbo? I could use a motivational speaker...

Steve,

My engine builder is an old school carb person.. He's an expert in that field.. I'm sure if you want to tune your carb set up, he will do it at very reasonable price... If he's nice enough to do it..

Maybe the dyno tunning should be split up... one day in Huntsville and the next day in Nashville. Although Nasville is good for the Knoxville guys, Huntsville is better for anyone coming from B'ham. And besides, with so many cars now ready for tunning, it might be the best plan...

elusive, the datalogging im talking about is being able to read AFTER THE FACT what your afrs were on the previous run. . . so the tuner can make adjustments accordingly. . . w/o guess work. you can datalog with the power fc's datalogit interface, but a lot of guys dont have a wideband o2 sensor bung welded in the right place and all the such. the dyno ive set up has the sniffer type which sticks into the tailpipe. . . no extra welding before the session.

single turbo??? suuuuuurrrrrrrrrrre. . . its soooooooooo much better. . . just a PIA to get it all together!!! hahahaha, thing to do is: get your single turbo support mods done on a non-seq setup. . . THEN buy a single kit. . . that way you have NO bs to wade through when you do the conversion. i love the single cause i dont have to deal with the mess that revolves around twins.

id suggest it to anybody that has the right budget!!! its great!!!

hdp, there might be enough support in tennessee to take up both days. . . there may be some people coming from kentucky. thats why i was saying 7th or 8th. . . well, guess i shoulda been more clear on that. . . anyways, the 7th is atleast reserved for tennessee. . . rated r1 has a race on the 8th. . .

paul
