The Walter Mitty April 30 - May 2 @ Road Atlanta

I was just checking to see if anyone was interested in going to the Mitty this year? I was thinking of going out there on Saturday and checking out all the old school cars that show up.

I'm heading out there Friday afternoon and camping thru Sunday. Doing the touring laps on Saturday.

Maybe we could get an impromptu OGTA breakfast going at the cracker barrel.

I should be there with the 79 after I pick it up. First time I would have seen it in almost a year. Camping near the Grassroots tent Friday - Sunday.

PureMdMa... Bring the GN or RX-2. Should be fun.

I'll have a picnic table and some chairs setup at my campsite if
anyone wants to come down and watch the races in comfort.
I'll also have chips, salsa, and a cooler of cold ones as well.

Just look for my SA, a tent and a blue portable picnic table. Hopefully
over by the esses under a big tree.

We are not going to make it this year again. With Elizabeth being on crutches for another 6 weeks it is not feasable to do a daytrip either. Bummed out for missing 2 in a row, but a happy wife is good for my racing car build-up!

Have fun Tim, wish we were making the trip with you. It is a great event. Make sure you get one of the professional track pics from the photographer that does the touring lap pics. Good memory piece.

Gonna miss driving down with you all. Stu isn't going either so I guess I'm on
my own. Thanks for the tip on the pics, I'll definitely get one. Then I can plaster
it all over the forum like Ray does.

Tell Elizabeth to get better real quick. Look forward to seeing you two at ZoomFest.
I see you both signed up (at least I think its you guys )

It's us I talked her into finally doing some track time. so we are sharing the FD and havein some fun. I think the TGPR track will be a great track for her to start on. Rather than the intimidating RA! I'll get her on RA one day though Have fun man, and yeah, the OGTA needs a new signiture pic!

Saturday looks perfect for a day to get away from all things financial, beautiful morning, a chance of afternoon thunderstorms to make it interesting.

Anybody up for breakfast at the cracker place?

Well, I can't miss out on a chance to have some breakfast with The Professor at the cracker place.

Tim, you pick the time. We'll meet you at Cracker Barrel. I am going to have get over to the track and get tickets before the activities start. Ray is such a dignitary that they might pay him to come to the track.

Who else is down for an OGTA breakfast meet before the Mitty. Kristy?

Depending on how Michelle is feeling Saturday, there is still a chance I might have to bail, but right now all is looking good.

I'm coming in friday afternoon so what ever time you all want to have
breakfast is fine with me (if I'm not too hungover from the previous night ).

I'll PM my cell phone # to folks if you want to call me later tomorrow. I'm not
taking no stinkin' computer with me so once I leave the house tomorrow
around noon, you have to use the cell number to catch up with me.

PM has been sent to everyone going on this list so far.

Hopefully I can get a good camp site over by all the curves. You all can
come over and hang out if you want.

Got my ticket reserved. I'm not sure I am in for breakfast though. I make better breakfast than cracker barrel.

You're right Tim, those financial people probably aren't frogs that mate with toads, but all the more reason for a great day at the Mitty.

Holly, what's the reservations for, the Mitty or your house for breakfast?

Breakfast at 8:00

OK, I know the gig. Someone has to be the hardass and set the time and this is usually my job for OGTA.

Breakfast is at 8:00 at Cracker Barrel.

Ray, I know you get up at 5:00 to feed the goats. So you can make it.

Tim, you're from Pittsburg, people from Pittsburg never met a hangover they didn't like. So you can make it.

For the rest of us, we all make it to work or school on-time. We can do this.

This way we can get to the track around 9:00, get our tickets and still catch some good vintage racing in the morning.

I looked at the Mitty/RA site. It looks like we probably need at ticket for the day (or weekend) and an infield parking pass. Do we need to buy anything else?

I'll call Tim and give him the time.

Mike got it, 8 a.m. Saturday morning. I'll be there, just listen for the angry bee.

If your going for the day you just need a one day pass and the infield parking if you
want to go across the Suzuki bridge and park in the corrals or whatever (I think).

I'm about to wash and wax the 7 and then head out, should be on the road around
11ish or so. I've got my original mazda key, so I can get into the Friday Mazda key
party.

I've got two original Mazda keys, anybody need to borrow one?

I'll try to get the Silver One washed and waxed. Tim, you are right. OGTA does need a new iconic photo.

See ya'll for breakfast
