Angry So my car got hit today, minor damage but frustrating

I was parallel parked at a friends house and got backed into by one of their other friends... she hit me hard enough to crease the thin metal support on the passenger side which extends the bumper bracket from the main front cross-rail (that normally straight piece of metal that runs next to the headlight and beside the water bottle). As a result my hood shuts on TOP of my bumper cover now instead of flush with it. Its off by about 3/8". In addition, she apparently hit the plastic of the bumper so hard that the top row of fins on my GReddy FMIC is crushed about halfway. Now, of course with the stock nose in place, nobody is going to see the damage, but it was a brand new GReddy FMIC and it was pristine, and now the top entire row is crushed.

I'm rather unhappy, to say the least. I'm going to try and get some time off work (what a bitch, 'cos I'm hourly and its gonna cost me time and money to get my car fixed which of course the insurance company won't pay for) and get a quote on the damage from a reputable body shop. Such a pain in the ***.

And now I can't enter the car show at Rotary Revolution due to the damage.

I just wrecked a few weeks ago, lost it in a drift. but it gave me good reason to order my wide body fenders from corksport & a new set of wheels.

Just gotta look at the brighter side of life

Yeah I made it up... we got snowed on and froze to death but we're alive. Only late Sunday did the weather start improving.

I didn't see sexyrx there tho (she was definitely missed, there were far too few familiar faces there). But Kan did his magic and my car is pretty damn fast now. The turbo runs out of puff at 6k and starts dropping boost pressure tho . Good thing we noticed is that the fuel system is definitely adequate. I'll get a dyno chart the next time we have a dyno day here in Atlanta.

Next two purchases: CDI and boost controller. Then, let the fun begin.

As far as the wreck, I'm gonna call a couple shops up and get appointments. We'll go from there.

I'll keep you all posted.

Leo,

Steve is still working on it. He didn't bring it up to the Rotary Revolution.

Hey Holly,
How you doing? I hope everything is going well. Hope you can go to the fall meet at Deal' s Gap. I thought Steve's car was ready, I remember when be brought it down to B'ham that it was just untune and was like running low boost. Hehe, maybe he has been busy tuning other people's car he hadnt had the chance to do his. It sounded awesome though, never heard anything like it. Man, I kind of would like a 3 rotor, but man your talking big money there!!!

Daniel,

Sorry to hear about that. I was involved in an accident in my FC that messed up the front of the car. I was able to get new FTP lenses, turn signals, fog lamps and such out of the deal. The car looks much better for it now. I'm sure everything will work out well for you.

I think i have a lemon motor since I keep spinning bearings on the 3 rotor (usually cause by either lack of oil or unbalanced assembly). Either way, I think the E-shaft is bad so I'm waiting on getting another engine and start from scratch.

That sucks Steve, hope everything goes well in the long run. But man, I loved the sound of your 3 rotor.

Maybe I will come visit and you can take me for a ride running 20psi, hehe. I wish I had some money to put in something like that. I would never drive it though, just would be a show car. Not many 3 rotors running around anymore and they discontinued the motor, such as rarity. Anyway, good luck Steve...

Welp, she's at Kong's now. Looks like she's in good hands. I've got a shitty (well, **** colored at the very least) cavalier (wtf) from enterdespise rent-a-crap and its got NO features. Bupkus. Zilch. Not a manual, no power windows or locks, crappy *** cloth seats... can you tell I'm pissed? That's all they had, or a kia rio. Of the two evils, the cavalier is the better choice but damn. I'm extremely disappointed in that local enterprise location. Bleh. I can't wait for my car to get back.

Oh yes, you did. And I knew it was gonna happen too. We talked about it. Not like there was amazing loads of choice... that's the only car they had, period, other than a kia and a hyundai.

Sad thing is they do own a Mazda6, but it was not returned yet. I'm gonna pester them until it comes back and then switch I think.

WOOT! Got my car back Tuesday and it seems perfectly fine. The freshly repainted hood that no longer has hailstorm damage is a very very nice treat, as well.

Nothing, for me. They paid for it. Kong made out with $1,200, and turned it around in 2 days.
