my car's gone

around 2:20 this afternoon(may 11), i turned onto s. blackstock rd up by deny's and that super 8 motel, rounded the curve and there was a car in the on coming lane but didn't realize the woman making a left turn across my lane. when she saw me she stopped, half in her lane half in mine. by the time i realized she was in my lane i was too close to stop. all it did to her's was break some of the front grill and scuff up the front facia. mine, it completely pushed the driver's side finder, wheel, strut tower and steering column in. didn't hurt the engine tho so i'll be looking for something to replace it with. sorry i have no was of getting pics just yet but hope to by the weekend. i wasn't really hurt since i was able to brace for impact but my wife was with me, had just picked her up from work and she was counting her tips and not looking so she wasn't so lucky. she got into the windshield. except for a few cuts on the forehead, she seems to be ok.

True, but people can also heal. Not to be cruel, but I can't count how many times I'd wished I'd stopped a lot harder or swerved more aggressively (low-speed stuff, not highway) and taken a harder hit if it had meant less damage to the car. Sorry for your loss, man.

Damn man, that really sucks. Was your wife wearing a seatbelt? Now I'm worried about my girl in my car, I have newer belts in it, but am still worried.

no she wasn't but gladly she wasn't seriously injured, just a few cuts on the forehead. xrays showed nothing wrong.
