SC rx7 club meet: dec.
Sup fella's? Just thought I would come in here and see what was going on. I wont be able to make any meets for awhile. The engine siezed up on my 7 about a month ago. I havent decided what I'm going to do with the car just yet. It's been a faithfull friend for for many years and I cant really bring myself to let it go.
I was backing up in a friends driveway, and its on a pretty incline. I stalled the car pretty hard under a load, and was far enough out of the way so I didnt restart it.
After chilling for a few hours I go to leave and the car wouldnt start. Sounded like the starter was engaging but not turning. So, I attempted to roll the car off in 2nd gear. It just slide, then tried 3rd..same thing. Knowing that the engine can be turned by hand, I knew something it seriously bound up. It simply cant be turned, even counter-clockwise.
Considering all the "***** to the wall" driving I've done in this car, and the amount of bulletproof service this car has given me. I cant really be pissed-off, just a little broken hearted though. 200K on the original engine is more than I could ask out of it. Had I not stalled it, I'm certain it would be screaming along today.
I can get a factory Mazda reman through a friend for $1300, but I keep hearing bad things about the various quality of there engines, so idk.
Things are real tight as usual and hopefully I can find a decent donor S4 for reasonable. Option B: Try to find a rebuild kit for a fair price and have one of my friends restack it. Hopefully the housing isnt damaged, but I think it folded a seal. Or it got hung in an exhaust port...or both. Not sure.
The Mazda Wankel is in my blood. And maybe with any luck I can have it breathing again. Till then I guess I'll just suffer through it lol.
Anyway's, you guy's stay safe and I'll try to swing in here every-now n' then.

damn, that blows. no pun intended. get the engine torn down and see what you have. then buy the various seals needed(for that engine roughly $500 maybe less) then bring it down here and we will build it.
there better be time for some fun runs i jut brought 2 new falken RT-615s so i can have more grip for this meet. also allen if you want i could see about picking you up one of those 626 lips $10.
what does everyone think about having the meet Sunday instead of saturday.. there is an autocross that saturday at Michelin proving grounds, which is a kickass location
Hmmm... there's an autocross?
how much?
Side note. Today completely sucked. Was unable to get anything done on my driveline swap. Anyone want to bring a torque gun and a jack and help me do the swap tomorrow? Bueller? Bueller?
