Why don't you just swap in an S4 setup? It's not that hard. And get a new t-stat too, while you're at it, that one looks like it came over on the Mayflower

Seriously, I'm sure he'll put them up. How's your car doing?

Word. Say bye bye to your rims tho. LOL. The Hawk HPS will paint any rim black from the dust they emit, but they are ballin *** pads and last you a while.

Just wax your rims when they are clean. I use HPS pads on my jeep full-time and don't have problems with it. It's not Hawk Blue dust, after all

WTF happened when I was off-line for exams? Geez, can't take you guys anywhere.

I think the pertinent question is not was it safe, was he in control, but is this: what did the oncoming truck driver think? He could have swerved, jackknifed, and taken you all out. Or just himself. Driving like an asshat on public roads is driving like an asshat, period. I've had enough track time that if I *really* wanted to, I can drive 10/10 in anything with wheels and outrun most cars through the art of not slowing down; and I'm not that great a track driver. I'm sure Reese feels similarly (he drives an emergency vehicle, for chrissakes). That doesn't mean that just because *I* am in control all the time, that I'm driving safely. That would only apply if there was no chance of anyone else being on the road. If you're gonna get all defensive about it, consider that your friends were worried about *you* and that you were going to get yourself killed. Never get pissed off when someone is worried about you - trust me, having no one worry is far worse.

Man up and spend some money on HPDE / track days. VIR, Roebling, and CMP are all close enough to get your thrill on.

Hmmm...I think I know what we can do for a meet later this year. Let's look into what it would cost (usually around $150 each, I think) to have an event at CMP or similar. I had an awesome time at Little Talladega a few years back. Definite rush!!

The MSCCNC did autox events for about $50 a head; this was with instructors and about 20 runs each. Insurance was about $300 per event, equip rental about $500, and the locale between $500-1000. We got a local Mazda dealership to kick in lunch for everyone, and got the instructors as volunteers from Tarheel SCC.

Remember, you'll need event insurance to do something like this or a track day. The per-event cost isn't too bad, the problem is you have to buy a $1500 retainer and then use events against that amount.

The location ranges all over.
Tomorrow is just a get together/grill out for a few people... its a sort of rx7 gathering/late housewarming party at our place here in columbia if you wish to drive up.
I think the next official meet will be June 13th in Charleston. There's a thread up for it.
