Had to get us back up top. doin engine swap this weekend. then start pullin TII engine in hopes of a white christmas. Beer and Rotaries go hand and hand.

What would b wrong with a motor that when you add coolant it all pours out between the engine and tranny. Since the tranny is mated to the engine i cant see but it comes out the hole at the bottom of tranny where the rubber plug is.

 

Well 2 things could be the problem. 1 the rear iron could be cracked some where near the tension bolts or #2 it could be the tension bolt washers went out on it. # is a quick fix and #1 is a new Iron.

 

Rotarywall- you have rear iron already on the other motor.. For that matter you've got another motor. I haven't had a chance to look up the ignition thingy yet. Thought I might have a moment just now. But, the kids are getting routy again!

 

Dana, I looked around, and cant find the ignition and key Edd was talking about. Sorry man.

 

If its is a tension bolt washer i should just be able to remove and replace it correct pull the engine tranny apart a little and swap.

 

I guessing it would be ok just tighten the bolt back to specs. But that a guess. I would change one at a time and only go at half torque and at the end after replacing all the washers the retighten the motor to torque spec and sequence.

It was a freeze plug it was gone just left a big hole for antifreeze to escape.

I am alive, I should be home in about month and a half and as soon I get home I need to work on my RX-7 and get it ready to kick some a$$...
