Thats what Fjdrx7 said but Dana and I looked appears to be coming out of block where rear housing and rear plate meet right aft of the mazda on the housing right at that right angle It will dump all the oil out in a matter of about a minute I will check everything when I get home today drove the vert to work. I leaks right above the temp sensor and oil pedestal. Sisco said that there is no oil passage there but **** looks like its coming right from that corner.
Hey David llama A Portela en Beaufort el tiene el numero de telefono de un 5 letras que esta nuevo en Beaufort. By the way que ha pasado contigo que hace tiemmmpo no te veo? Cuidate y vuelve a la fiebre ya lol, ya es tiempo de salir del retiro de la fiebre.
Hey David Call Portela, he have the Phone # of a guy selling a GSLSE in Beaufort.
If the engine is leaking from where you saing it is, there are two possibilities. First the rear iron is cracked where you are saying the oil is comming from. There is oil flow between the rear of the engine and the front thru the upper dowel pin which is located right around that area, and when the rear iron cracks, the entire drains out thru any small crack. There are only a few things that can cause such cracks, over-boost (25LBS or more if not pinned), engine runing lean, engine out of timming or detonations. Hardly ever happens on street car, mostly on race cars runing over 30LBS of boost.
The second cause could be a pinch or broken o-ring. The engine uses 4 o-rings on the same area, 1 against each side of the housing and irons. When an o-ring gets pinched or breaks during build up, the engine leaks immediately after it starts, not after 2000 miles.
Have you performed any work on that area, or changed the oil or mess with the oil filter or maybe the oil filter mounting base which is held by 2 nuts and it has 2 o-rings underneath? All this is located on that same area.
Tell me more on how everything started and what happened in order for me to give you a better solution.
Too bad that we are so far away, otherwise the car would be fixed by now.
Keep us informed.

OK I babied the car for 600 miles then dyno'd then babied till 1000 miles drove like crazy at Deals Gap and came home total of like 2000 miles total no leaks at all. At the dyno the guy said between 3000-3500 RPM I was at 12.8 A/F which he said was lean all other I was more toward rich side like 14 and up. Called FJDRX7 cause I was worried he said no need to worry about the numbers. I changed oil before I left for Dragon and no leaks all weekend. I was driving to work on Tuesday when I got back when It let go and all the oil came out within 3 minutes. I check oil ped O-rings they are not leaking.
The good news is you can replace the iron without tearing down the whole engine. Ive done it a couple of times, you just have to be careful when youre taking the old iron off to not disturb the rotors/seals.

Good numbers are between 12.0 to 12.5
Normally aspirated engines you could go higher, but our cars are turbo.
JAVIER and I were talking today about your engine and we are pretty confident that your rear housing plate (iron) cracked at the dowel pin area, and thats why all the oil. When that happens, the oil spill is very normal.
Should be an easy fix, remove engine, clutch, flywheel, all the tension bolts and the housing, then just match the new housing to the old one and re-install.
I wished to be there to fix it for you problem, but you know where we are.

Oh you will be here when it gets fixed, pulled car in garage ill have the engine out and ready when you guys get home. I gonna work on the convertible it needs some attention havent touched it in awhile. Looking for another 1st gen and a surprise for you guys when you get back. So ill pull engine buy some more parts, need a way to controll fuel better than stock thinking about the fuel plug and play think Haltech makes one. If Carlos has the rear iron then I dont ahve to worry about that. Do I need a new seal kit and can we just buy what we need?
Does it matter if i choose between an intank fuel pump or an inline for a 20b swap im trying to run the stock setup but i dont have the numbers on pressure or how much pph and such so thats a pain im also looking for one that can run up to somewhere between 5-600hp at a later dat im just trying to get it running to begimn with so im not stickingv myself with pipe dreams...any ideas?

Is a damn bummer though about Edds car. We had some excellent runs, I cant thank him enough for the work he did on that steering rack! Best purchase ever for a 1st gen in my opinion.
My car didnt over heat once, so again the race was on! the result of the FB taking the FC..... you be the judge LMAO!

Ed, I'm really sad to hear about your 7. I know you will get it back together soon. Good Luck with it.
Ian, I had a great time with you, Sam and Ed. I'm glad you guys came over to Atlanta and then drove up in the caravan with us too. I can't wait until next year. Hopefully it will be at Fontana with better access to cabins and the gap.
